SushiX Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 That's right, even married men. We are programmed to spread our seeds to as many females as possible. Don't cry and get over it!
somedude81 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 If I could have three wives, I'd never cheat. 8
fortyninethousand322 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I don't know. Maybe. Then again if we were all genetically programmed to impregnate as many women as possible there wouldn't be any gay men. Cheating is a concept that I never understood. But, as a guy who rarely gets dates that doesn't exactly mean much.
SJC2008 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 How can you cheat if you can't even pull someone to cheat on? I've made progress though. I used to complain that I couldn't even be back burner or rebound guy and I was finally rebound guy! That was the longest courship of my life btw at 40 days. Hey it's improvement though right? 1) Get a date, check! 2) Be rebound guy, check! 3) Get a GF, TBD. 4) Cheat on GF since all men cheat, TBD. 1
Mme. Chaucer Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I'm programmed to snatch and hoard shiny objects. No sparkly thing is safe when I'm nearby. Jewelry counters at departments stores - get over it. Shoplifting is my natural condition. 8
OJ loved Nicole Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 If I could have three wives, I'd never cheat. If I could have 3 wives, I'd shoot myself. 5
Woggle Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I swear this forum just sinks lower and lower. Nobody is programmed to do anything. People choose to cheat. 14
somedude81 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 If I could have 3 wives, I'd shoot myself. No, I think you'd stab one of them... 2
ChessPieceFace Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I swear this forum just sinks lower and lower. Nah. Trolls are omnipresent.
kaylan Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 That's right, even married men. We are programmed to spread our seeds to as many females as possible. Don't cry and get over it! Speak for yourself. Your BS evo-psych theory is wrong seeing as how Ive had opportunities to cheat and not get caught in the past and didnt take them. 3
fortyninethousand322 Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Speak for yourself. Your BS evo-psych theory is wrong seeing as how Ive had opportunities to cheat and not get caught in the past and didnt take them. Evolutionary psychology is real. It's just that the OP's theory doesn't jive with the research in that field. It's akin to saying the seasons don't exist because it was 60 degrees on the East Coast today. 1

It's akin to saying the seasons don't exist because it was 60 degrees on the East Coast today. Evo psych is not an accepted science by MANY academics. Many shrug it off as unprovable bunk with theories based largely on broken logic. Theres been tons and tons of debates on that so called science bro. Part of OPs theory is exactly what those in the evo psych community try to push a lot of the time.
Woggle Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 If people really want to live like cave men they can also give up technology and hunt for their food with clubs but I don't see them doing that. They just bring up the evo psyche thing as an excuse for their behavior. 8
Keenly Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Given the right woman, I would never even give cheating a thought. Have that same woman start treating me badly, and watch how fast I become distracted.

I'm assuming this is about "humans aren't meant for monogomy"... I've googled it and there's compelling things that seem to back it up. TBS we're a tad bit more sophisted than animals so we're aware of the others feelings. What does science say about that??

The point I was making is that there are serious academic institutions that sponsor research into evolutionary psychology. Unfortunately like economics, it's gotten hijacked by people trying to make a quick buck.

There are also schools that offer classes on studying Jersey Shore which shows you the state of education in this country. Instead of using evolution as an excuse why can't people just play the field honestly? 3

Instead of using evolution as an excuse why can't people just play the field honestly? After I graduated my college offered a class on zombies. I think it was a sociology class. And evolutionary psychology isn't about using evolution to justify actions. It's about explaining why certain things happen when humans interact. A lot of those things are the result of genetics and biology. The other day I read a study about how ovulating strippers get bigger tips than non ovulating ones. A lot of the "Your Brain on Porn" website stuff is based on evoutionary psycholgy. Now, maybe it's all bunk, but it's pretty interesting and worth seriously discussing. The OP doesn't present a serious discussion though.
Mme. Chaucer Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 "Cheating" is a product of character, not chromosomes. 2
2sunny Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I swear this forum just sinks lower and lower. Nobody is programmed to do anything. People choose to cheat. Yep. Because they lack character and a conscience. Their moral compass is off balance. Men and women cheat... So it's not confined to just men... 1
HitMeNow Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 YOU'RE WRONG. You see there is some people who believe in this thing called INTEGRITY. Core values, you know? You should give them a try.
CptObvious Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 "if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying hard enough"
Pyro Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 No ........ Fixed it for you Wholigan. That's right, even married men. We are programmed to spread our seeds to as many females as possible. Don't cry and get over it! just trying to get a rise out of everyone I see. It appears to be working. Do unicorns exist as well in this world you live in where you speak for the entire male population? 4
Revolver Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 I disagree. If a man finds what he believes to be his ideal or dream woman he will never cheat. The problem happens when a man settles and the person he's with isnt what he really wants were the cheating becomes more probably 2
