Most men do not want to be in a long-term relationship with a woman who was affectionately referred to as the town bicycle. Most men do not want to be in a long-term relationship with a woman who got gang-banged by five fraternity members during her tenure in college. Female promiscuity now has zero restraints. The average woman now has experienced more partners and more sexual variety than the average male would ever see in three lifetimes. It is justified by off-loading insecurity onto the man for his inability to deal with her past sexual dalliances. If a man has difficulty stomaching a woman's past, he is seen as insecure and the discussion is over. There is no other meaning, he simply has to "get over it". It's not her fault that she slutted around. Yeah, "get over it" and marry that slut, boy.

Do you honestly think that as a man, you would want to be "last"? Is there anything in life where being "last" is great? Was being picked last for the kickball team in elementary school great? Was it a good thing to be one of the last people to head out to Sutter's Mill during the California Gold Rush? Is it awesome to come last in a marathon? A resounding NO for all of the above. Why do you think you'd feel good being the "last" in a long line of men?

The more partners a woman has had, the greater the chance that you will simply not measure up sexually. She has had a guy who was more muscular than you. A guy who had a bigger dick than you. A guy who was taller than you. A guy who was more athletic than you. A guy who was more dominant than you. A guy who pushed more of her buttons than you. Do you honestly think that the average beta herb computer programmer who gets betrothed to one of these chicks will stand a chance? The same guy who was slaving away his 20s in the confines of a server room while she was out having blackout party nights before they met? Do you honestly think that this is a congruous pairing? The answer again, is a resounding NO.

Rubbing salt into the wound even more is the woman that makes the man wait for sex in a relationship when she gladly gave it up to an alpha male in Cancun a few years prior because she's "not that type of girl anymore". Then there is the tendency to lie about it all and say that you somehow forgot about a large chunk of partners. These chicks are like the piece of bread on the top of the packet that everyone touches but nobody wants. I know a few of these types of girls. I honestly feel sorry for the sap that gets married to them...

Anyway, the problem is when chicks lie, guys get mad. Might as well get it out there so the guy can move on if he's not comfortable with the number.

Also, "conservative" is a huge buzzword in this thread. People seem to toss around the word not knowing what it means. Religiously conservative? Politically conservative? Socially conservative? Because neither of those have much bearing on someone's ability in bed.......

As for the guys who want to be with the reformed sluts, that's on you but there are many men who will pass. Don't make the men that will pass seem like lesser men because they don't want to be with the first slice of bread on the loaf.

There are people who enjoy having sexual adventures. If you don't find such people to be compatible with you, that's great. They don't need to be given disparaging names.

Guys who have sex with women they consider to be "sluts" and for whom they have no respect, in my opinion, exemplify devolution. Thank goodness my contact with such men is limited to my Internet hours.

It's standard practice to make sure any sluts you're banging do not know you think they are sluts or are judgmental in any way.

KungFuJoe with his dislike for using commonsense and his liking for spoon-feeding wasted pages 3, 4 and 5 on this thread.

I am fed up of reading the insecure theory and the town bicycle theory on almost every thread on this topic and I am assuming so many of the others too.

Actually, I meant the retroactive jealousy theory.

The town bicycle theorists come up with something new to think about now and then and are creative. The town bicycle theory is entertaining to read and has some truth to it and might cause a revolution. I am with you brothers, arise and awake and together lets change the world.

I don't know if you were watching tv last night, Tha, but there was a programme called "what happens in Kavos" on. It was a kind of 18 to 30s holiday scene on the Greek island of Kavos. I watched some of it, but it was such a barrel scraper of a programme that I ended up switching it off.

Basically, it was one of those perpetually drunk orgy holidays - lots of puking, lots of unprotected sex in full view of everybody else and they had this "punishment" system whereby anybody (male or female) who had sex with the same person more than three times had to drink a glass of urine. People were taking regular trips to a local clinic for STD checks. One guy had to have his penis stitched up after it had an unfortunate encounter with either a set of teeth or a particularly savage vagina - he didn't seem to have a clue which, and nor did he seem to care that much.

It makes me wonder what people actually mean when they talk about having a wild past. There's being a bit racy and experimental, and then (as the holidaymakers in Kavos showed) there's having about the degree of class, dignity and restraint that you would find amongst the rats trapped in the overcrowded cage in Calhoun's experiment.

Oh dear! I did watch that show - there is a line for me then . I think that whenever a girl is a bit wild, they must be getting equated with these girls that go to these islands and do that stuff . I wonder....

Good post there .

Also, other posters - I did ask for no slut-shaming. That's not what the thread is about. I understand that you guys don't want to be with promiscuous women. That is fine. I also wholeheartedly agree that they shouldn't lie to get into those relationships and accept their past - a la Kaylans post. But It is that outright disrespect that I have mentioned. It is unnecessary. I do think that some girls are excessive and too much of any thing is bad. But whatever too much is varies with people - and that doesn't grant me the right to teat them with disdain. Therefore I don't - I don't talk about them with disdain either.

Note how it's the ones who actually sleep with them who refer to them with the most disdain. Perhaps it's a case of "any club that would have me as a member can't be all that great."

Hah, highly possible.

It should also be noted I lost my virginity to quite possibly the most promiscuous girl I've ever met (gangbangs and the lot). To this day, I have never treated her with any disrespect or spoken ill of her. No reason to.

That's because you respect PEOPLE, and you're not a hypocrite.

I don't think this is how they view it at all.

I believe it's a dominance and control thing. I think it is an expression of insecurity, and I've seen it most often from men who are either very successful with getting sex, or those who are utter failures at it.

Most women seem completely ignorant of how the vast majority of men view casual sex.

ThaWholigan, I started a thread on a similar vein in the Cheating and Jealousy board and I appreciate your curiosity about this, but at this point just let this thread die.

You too, Mme Chaucer, KungFu, and Tara.

The people of LS seem to fall into a few categories:

*Scorned lovers who have been cheated on and no matter what question you ask about your partner will tell you that he or she is DEFINITELY cheating and a bad person

*Bro dudes who are afraid of their sexuality and even more afraid of the sexuality of women, that can't really get laid by their own accord. They're the kinds of guys that will call a girl a slut and a whore for wearing a short skirt and sit there on the beach drooling and popping a bone every time a scantily dressed girl walks by, especially if she's 16. They are attracted to weakness and fear strong women and do not mistake this for conservatism, it isn't. I can practically smell their perspiration from here. They can't spell and their reading comprehension is bad. They have no idea who Chaucer was.

*Truly conservative people -- they may come from a religious background or maybe it's just their nature. They're the ones that wouldn't date someone promiscuous, look for a partner with the same values, but do not slut shame. They understand that others don't share their values and don't need to spend all of this time and energy on hatred and vitriol because there are more important things to think about.

*More liberal people who are usually well-read and have given a lot of thought to their beliefs. These are the people who get berated on these boards for daring to have an opinion, they're highly literate and value reason and rational discourse.

The boards are dominated by the people in category 1 and 2, and sometimes you've gotta just let it go and let the negative people enjoy their negativity party. I suggest that you go have some great sex instead, since we actually know how to do that.

So...all woman with experience are morons, who expect a single person to somehow be every person she's ever been with at once, and therefore anything will be a disappointment? Does not compute.

People who try really hard to sound smart amuse me :D. Nice try, buddy.

I'm conservative fiscally when it comes to foreign policy, and socially liberal, so HuffPo isn't my cup of tea. Hatemongers like you aren't my cup of tea either. Your views on women are repulsive, I'm trying to give you a break because it's clear that you were badly hurt by a woman and it left you feeling very insecure, but you've crossed too far into misogyny territory.

The only problem is double standards. If you judge the behaviors of all people equally (be they straight or gay, male or female, black or white, etc.) then it shouldn't matter if you call someone a slut, or judge them for their behavior. I'm not going to censor my language because some people use words incorrectly and still others might take offense...

Slut is a pejorative term, so if you're the kind of guy who'll call gay people "fags" and black people the "n word", you're the kind of guy who will call a woman a "slut" for having too much sex for your liking. You can't really be trying to justify your bigotry with this argument, it's ludicrous.

I call gay people "gay", because they're "gay". I wouldn't call a black person the n word because that word has no other meaning than to offend a black person for just being black.

Calling someone a slut (I've referred to promiscuous men as sluts too) because they are sexually promiscuous or will sleep with anything that moves is not making a value judgement on someone's inherent being. No one is born a slut, they choose to become one. And I will make judgements and use whatever vocabulary I choose to refer to it.

It's just total nonsense to be offended by a word, a word that simply defines actions one has chosen to take. People can do whatever they like with their own bodies, but I have the right to assess them.

ANY word can be derogatory depending on context.

Example.

Two women talking about a party a girl went to where she hooked up with a guy:

"OMG, I can't believe you finally hooked up with that guy...he's a hottie! You slut!"

Or...someone else talking about that same girl...

"Wow...I can't believe she hooked up with that guy after just meeting him. What a slut."

It really comes down to...would you be willing to say it to SOMEONE'S FACE?

I don't see what's so offensive about the words "slut", "beta", "virgin", etc. They are just words to describe factual things. It's like being offended if someone tells you your eyes are blue or your hair is red, or your car is yellow.

I don't get whats wrong with it either. I learned in the "retarded" thread that if you are offended by words, that's your own fault and you're not supposed to give power to them. Something like that. I figure it goes for "slut" as well.

Nobody has the right to not be offended.

I have no problems calling a person a slut directly to their face based on my own value judgement at the time. It's rude and judgmental... but those same people are very often just as rude and judgmental and hurtful to others.

Yeah, to a person who lacks original insight and repeats the mantra of "bitter, bitter, bitter" to any viewpoint that makes a lick of logical sense, it is easy to see how this would be seen as something that has no value.

Just keep drinking that Kool Aid, brah.

lol, brah.....

You know I really don't care what the LS trolls think/say, they are all ants to me.

Then don't get so riled up when I call things as they are.

I'm pretty sure you don't know what the word riled means....

The general tone of d'Argennes' posts may be off-putting but there's little he's said that I could honestly disagree with. Like say "that definitely isn't true !" too.

As I've stated, I don't have anything against promiscuous girls or guys. "Sluts" or "dogs"... Many of both in my circle of friends. But as far as completely natural feelings go- with no intentional judgement, malice, or attempt to belittle anyone- I just won't, whether I like it or not, have the same type of reverence/respect for a girl I'm with knowing she's given herself to loads of guys. Especially if I know many were turds. It's hard for me to look at a female as a "goddess" when I know she has a past of being a slut, the same way I wouldn't expect a female to look at a guy as her "knight in shining armor" knowing he was f*cking all sorts of women without discretion. Doesn't mean there's ill will or bitterness in my feeling that, or that I couldn't think a "slut" was an awesome girl.

I've got love for the cool, promiscuous girls I've been with. It just never feels like the magical privilege of an experience that being with a "choosier" girl of equal coolness does, right or wrong. And again, genders reversed I could see it being the same.

Any small negative judgement or lack of respect I do have for certain promiscuous people, is simply because I see giving yourself physically to lots of people with limited discretion as a kind of half-assed means of self validation. And I only get that feeling if they have little else to derive self-worth from. And even then it doesn't make me dislike them. It's kind of like overeating. I have no ill will toward the obese, but when someone needs to constantly eat for emotional reinforcement, with little regard of their food's quality, it's harder for me to see them as an admirable, badass person. And admirable, badass people are the types I like to surround myself with.
