manofmystrey Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Hey people... There is a girl that I have just met and want to talk to her. Does anyone have any ice breaking tip or conversation starters?
vhshowdown Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 I think its best to be yourself when you approach her. Tell her a quick lil joke, make her laugh is always a good way to break the "weirdness" of approaching someone for the first time. Then you will both be at ease.....
savethedrama4allama Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Will you be calling? emailing? in person in a particular setting? We need some details to help...
Author manofmystrey Posted August 25, 2004 Author Posted August 25, 2004 Hey savethedrama4yrmama I will be emailing as she lives in another city not to far from mine. I have also decided to email cause I wont be as nervous as I would be on the phone. been a long time since I had to do something like this. There is particular setting yet. I guess we are in the intial phase of getting to know eachother and getting comfratable with eachother. That is one of the reasons I am so nervous. And thank you offering help.
savethedrama4allama Posted August 25, 2004 Posted August 25, 2004 Email is good... I like to break the ice with humor. I am not sure what kind of humor she is into, do you know at all? Some of my favorites are The Onion, a satirical newspaper with fake articles http://www.theonion.com/ Found magazine, a magazine comprised of funny stuff people find http://www.foundmagazine.com/ And this short movie http://www.ebaumsworld.com/endofworld.html You could send her a link to something funny from one of these sites, and tell her that you found it enjoyable and wanted to share. Make sure to ask questions like "how are you doing" and "what are you up to lately" or "how is work" so it gives her something to reply to. And make sure your email is polished and grammar is presentable so that it is clear you spent time on it..an email that is poorly constructed makes me think the person wrote it as an afterthought while running out the door. Good luck!
