RudeLou Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 The girl that cuts my hair got my phone number from their computer and sent me a text. I'm going to a basketball game on Sunday and I had an extra ticket, but I didn't ask her because I wasn't sure if she would go. About half an hour after I left she sends me a text apologizing for getting my number out of the computer to text me. She says I hope you have fun at the game on Sunday and hope I find someone to use the extra ticket. I replied back and asked her if she wanted to go to the game. She replied that she so would if she didn't have to work. I've always been really bad at distinguishing signals, so I would appreciate a little help. Is she really interested or being nice? Thanks in advance!
ChessPieceFace Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I think she probably broke company privacy policy by using their business equipment to get your number to send a personal text? So I'd say she must be really interested.
Jefezen Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I had something like this happen to me once too. I was at a computer retail store, the clerk looked up my name in the database, then found me on Facebook. While this seemed like stalkerish behavior, I kind of liked it because it conveyed interest on her part to go through so much effort to locate me. Unless she's a huge basketball fan who knows you had an extra ticket and just wants to use you to get invited to the game, I would say that she's definitely interested in you, at least for now. Women change their minds quickly, though. Strike fast or you'll likely lose any chance at a relationship with her. This might be because women generally have more options from which to choose than men because men tend to be the pursuers. Women can afford to keep men on a short deadline. 1
Author RudeLou Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 Wow you guys are fast! I do agree it was a little bit stalkerish, but then again a little flattering because she went through that much trouble to text me. I think she's interested also. When she cuts my hair she asks a lot of questions and we do tease each other. I just thought it was normal stylist behavior, but the she did this. I don't believe she can go to the game though. Should I ask her to hang out at another time?
Jefezen Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I don't believe she can go to the game though. Should I ask her to hang out at another time? Yes, and don't delay. Do it by tomorrow afternoon. This will also be a good way to find out whether she wanted you or just an invitation to the game. If she agrees to go out with you, set up the date for within a week. You don't have to put the moves on her the first time out, but ideally you try for something on the second date, and certainly by the end of the third one. Contrary to popular perception, I think women expect intimacy sooner than men (even if men want it more).
