CaConfuse Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 My first post, after reading for awhile. My wife told me she wanted a divorce in September. It has been very civil, no lawyers. Married 3.5 yr, dating all in about 6. I'm 39. She's 36. My only real contact is business-like with her. Just getting things moving along. I can honestly say I wouldn't take her back even she wanted me back. My question - I have been considering moving to Austin from SF. I have so many friends here, but it's very costly for a single man. And my parents live close to Austin, so that's a bonus. I also have a few decent friends there. The thing that gives me panic is that I know if I move, I will never see my ex-wife again. It feels like a true death. I'm terrified. I don't know if this is normal or if it just subsides. We have no kids. I'm free. Can anyone share their perspective?

The only other reason I can think of is if you still have each other's belongings or there's something like tax-related business. Why the continuing contact, even if it's merely business-like?

For divorce business. Disclosure, taxes, some other loose ends. That is the only reason why.

Author CaConfuse Posted January 27, 2013 Author Posted January 27, 2013 Is there even a 1% chance of reconciliation? 1% is miniscule, so I can't stay THAT. Our court date will likely be Early April. I have no desire to get back together, and she has shown no indications either.
