The surprise came in the apparent link between drinking sugar-sweetened beverages and type 2 diabetes. Of the study subjects, [color=red]those who drank one or more daily showed an 83 per cent increased risk of developing the disease compared with those who had one or less a month[/color].

eep, I hope that doesn't include diet sodas. I can drink like 3 of those in a day:(.

gosh, i've looked at this thread twice, and it made me insanely thirsty every time! :laugh:

 

honey: i'm pretty sure any kind of soda is pretty bad for you. try to stick to water, juice, etc.

Bit more info: the results were based on 90,000 women! Also, sugary 'juices' are as bad as pop. If you look at most juice ingredients, you see lots of 'ose' sugars, which are not good for ya.

 

I think 100% pure juices are probably ok - if you can find them!

I dont know if those were included in this study but diet soda is really bad for you too.

It's not so much the soda itself but the crappy sugars that keep spiking your insulin.

 

Drink a nice ice cold glass of water. :)
