church9832 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 if you live in Australia, you know about the floods that's happening in qld. I want to text my ex to see if she's okay, she dumped me six months ago. I'm currently in a relationship with someone else, but I can't help but worry about my ex who was my first real love what do you think?
cavalier99 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 If your not affected by the communication and are recovered i say why not. If your still hung up on her NO.
stevie_23 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Well...have you spoken to her at all in that 6 months? If not, I wouldn't. I mean...you've moved on, she's hopefully moved on...you're with someone else. If you HAVE had contact at all and might like to embark on a friendship, then sure, text her if you like. If you really both have moved on, that would probably be ok. I'm in Queensland, Australia, but the floods are only way up north and nowhere near me. Depending where she is, she's probably perfectly fine. You could check on other sources maybe if you're hesistant to actually contact her directly. Facebook? Other websites she may go on?

stevie_23 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 saw her at a Christmas party, just had the hi and that's it. hows gold coast that's where she is? I'm on the Gold Coast, and there's no flooding whatsoever here. The floods are way, way north. Like days driving away. We're just getting some light rain here for now. If she lives on the Gold Coast, she is perfectly fine.
Author church9832 Posted January 25, 2013 Author Posted January 25, 2013 oh thank God, okiee guess I was just paranoid. Thanks everyone, I am abit hung up over her since she is my first so yeah haha. you can't get over your firsts
stevie_23 Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Well...I understand that, but I'm hoping what you mean is you will always have a special place in your heart for her, as your first love. An affectionate fondness not based on actually being hung up on her and somehow always hoping to be back with her one day as your only REAL love. Because you said yourself, you're with someone else now. I'm hoping this new person isn't just a rebound relationship or that you view it as nothing temporary or not as "real" as your first love. In any case, I'm glad you feel better about her safety. The Gold Coast is indeed perfectly fine. It's nowhere near the floods. Those floods were caused by a cyclone which passed over the coast of far north Queensland a few days ago. The Gold Coast is expected to get yuck weather over the next 4 days (which is annoying because it's a holiday weekend here, for Australia Day), due to the weather system moving southward, down the coast. But all it'll be is rain and wind here. No big deal. Did you want an excuse to text her though? I mean...if you google the floods and ex-cyclone Oswald and then Gold Coast, you'll quickly see this area is fine.

Yeah I was googling like crazy looking if it was flooding in the gold coast, cause I was watching TV and saw that brisbane would have potential flooding so I panicked abit. As for my new relationship, its going slow but she's warming up because I'm her first boyfriend and everythings new for her (she's had sexual friendships but stopped when she met me). I don't like treating women like a rebound, not fair to them and kills my mind on how guys are able to do that. (Think I'm incapable of using a woman if I really like them) Also, I wasn't looking for an excuse. I was really worried and just wanted to know if she was okay, if something happened I would be really devastated. My mindset is: She dumped me (for a good reason LDR, scared that she would cheat on me blah blah), so it's her loss and if she comes back she has to work for it Just was really worried haha
