So, a woman getting associated with a tattoo is perceived to be more permissive. And going by the context you're using...more likely to be a tramp?

How are you making these leaps here?:lmao:

Why can't it just be as simple as a woman saying, "Oh hey, I really like this tattoo. It looks really neat and I would love to get it."?

hmm why do I make these leaps? Cuz they're obvious ones?

I didn't invent 'tramp stamp' FYI...

I've yet to meet a moderately-to-heavily tattooed woman who was a prude. Just sayin'. :)

Here you go. He's looking way too much into this.

ps I feel you might benefit by more examples:

Why did Hitler kill all those Jews? A correct answer, but not one you'd get even 1 point on a test is ' cuz he didn't like them'

Get my point?

Posted
Well that's the answer a child could give. Not very deep and doesn't acknowledge many points about our psyche.

For example, men like full lips on a woman, and curvy hips. Why? You'd say 'uh cuz I like how they look' . You would not pass the test if it was a psych course (which is what we're doing here- talking psych) . The answer is it indicates fertility, and indicates future offspring.

And Tattoos are all about sexuality aren't they? Why do people adorn their bodies?

And again, it's not the 5 yr old answer that is at all interesting 'cuz I like to!'

Yeeeeah, righty-O there buddy. When my son tattooed my back I'm sure it was his goal to improve my marketability... and I know I definitely was thinking ooo baby, my baby is gonna make me hawt!!!

Good lord, the rubbish you guys come up with...

Danny in van,

So let me get this straight....you're saying you don't like tattoos?

No. Tattoos are not all about their sexuality. They're about expression-- of things important to you and things you value in your life. People adorn their bodies because they want to.

It's all about perception, and unfortunately you tie it to those things.

As for all of this psych course and children talk, I don't see how this is relevant.

Im a woman so Im pretty sure mostly everything on my body is sexual. We are just beautiful creatures sometimes. And I chose to adorn my body because I find it to be beautiful. I used to have a lot of piercings because one ex was a piercer. I just got really annoyed ripping out my nose rings washing my face.

And not being able to sleep on my ten gauge conch piercings. I had one nipple pierced and I loved how it looked but the pain was intense. Doubt I would do it again.

And obviously I am sexual. Whether or not the two are interrelated I am not sure. It is likely that because I am uninhibited in general that I would be uninhibited in sex and also making my physical appearance something I love.

Many crazy and/or slutty girls get tattoos. Note that statement doesn't mean getting a tattoo makes you crazy.

If you get a tattoo, you're going to be sending up red flags for some guys, and for good reason. Rebellious, bipolar, loose, slutty, amoral. Those are words I may associate with girls who have tattoos. Of course they aren't all that way, but many are. Heard the phrase "tramp stamp?"

If you get one I would get something small and tasteful in a place that's usually covered. Certainly in a place that won't be apparent to a future employer.

Maybe a better question is - why do you want one?

Lol. A "tramp stamp" refers to a specific area. The lower back above the butt crack.

Not allll tattoos on a woman. So are men who have tattoos seen as slutty?

Posted
Guys, if you were on a date with a girl and found out she had a tattoo, would you continue dating her or no? How big/noticeable would it have to be for you to say no?

Merely having a tattoo isn't enough information... but it might depend where it was and what it was. Some guy's name on her inner thigh might put me off!

I think my usual response is "can I see it?" and if I can then "what's the story?" (because there's always a story).

Tattoos in that location were ruined for me when I heard the phrase "tramp stamp". :(

Sorry, but I'd apply the phrase to any tattoo on a woman. Because if she has a tattoo the odds are good that she is loose.

Tattoos on guys. I don't know, I don't sit around thinking about tattoos on guys since I don't date guys. I don't have one. I know only a couple guys who have them and the guys are a-holes. I imagine it's related. In both cases it's related to the same kind of behavior, which society seems to laud in men more than women. Meaning, women who get tattoos spread a lot, and men who get tattoos see themselves as dominant or macho in some way, and get a lot. I suppose there are also the weirdo guys who get tattoos. So you have weirdos and macho guys. I'd conclude that if you see a tattoo on a guy he's probably not worth dating either. At least not if you care about fidelity.

I'm pretty macho. I'm also pretty mean.

But I'm also very nice, witty, charming, and handsome.;)

I would say I'm pretty sure these traits fall outside of what ink I get on my bod, but hey it just looks like I'm just defying the odds today.

This is just one of those cases of "I obviously dont give a fhuck".

I am a beautiful adult female who chooses to have art. And kn fact most of my work was done by my ex, a tattoo artist. A wonderful man. A kind and gentle sweetie who happens to be fully sleeved before 28.

I dont prefer men with or without tattoos. I do prefer to get to know them a bit before deciding if I would date them at all. Half of my exs didn't have tattoos. I still liked them. The other half with tattoos were faithful.

Damn. I'm glad that this line of thinking is in the minority.

Except you just admitted you're "macho" and mean and have tattoos. I don't believe the positive qualities you listed, specifically the "very nice" part. Who on earth is objective about themselves?

The disconnect here is what the asker is looking for. I am looking for an honorable woman. If I give women advice it would be to find honorable men. You're right Pyro, that perspective is the minority and thank god I'm in the minority.

Yeah...no.

This is not remotely close to being true.

If she has a tramp stamp, yes. If she has a tattoo in general, no. If she has a tattoo, odds are she's a little more open minded, yes, but that doesn't mean she is likely "loose".

I imagine the problem is that what you would call "loose" I would call "I need to wear a plastic glove before shaking her hand."

I can't believe there are actually guys that associate tattoos on women with being "loose".

Sometimes I wonder if some of the guys here have ever even SPOKEN to a woman. Other than over World of Warcraft, that is.

Skirts above the ankles are for whores?

Do you think people look at strangers and DON'T make judgements about them, based on what they wear, or tattoo themselves??

The way a woman walks can and does indicate something about her sexuality, no? Or you think they sway their hips for no reason at all?

Do you not think how high her skirt is indicates ANYTHING? All women give you the exact SAME vibe regarding sex?

If so, you're just not very perceptive..We rely on physical cues all the time.

I'm not agreeing that ALL women with tattoos are permissive...

But in a blind psych test I know the same woman with or without tattoos will rate differently to complete strangers...IE the stranger will make different assumptions about her if she has tattoos or not.

And is it valid...? If I had to choose I'd say yes, - girl w tattoos is likely more sexually open than those without. You disagree? You'd put actual $ on it if you had to and bet she's LESS sexual than no tattoo girl?

I'm talking your ideal of how you want things vs how they are...

I'm saying your time could be better spent...such as working on your social skills...rather than worrying about how loose a chick is cuz she has a couple tattoos.

so women wear earrings and lipstick just for 'expression' also, and not to attract someone?

I would have to say Nay. Far too many women these days are getting tattoos and they end up regretting it later on. I would let small tattoos pass but definitely no tramp stamps or tattoos across the chest or leg or any huge ones on the back. Too me any of those tats would be a deal breaker. But I prefer tattoo less altogether. It's getting harder to find since for some reason everyone needs to express their individuality by getting permanent ink put on their bodies.

Girls are beautiful the way they are and getting tattoos to me makes their stock plummet.
