Author Keenly Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Is it true there are more men in norcal and it's a good place to be a woman dating-wise? As opposed to the East Coast. Maybe me and Keenly should switch coasts :/ Depends on what you like. If you like douchebags or attention seeking " look at me " harley riders then yeah, come on over.
TheZebra Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I love badminton. Too bad the only people who seem to play it are middle aged Asian men lol
Green Light Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Every time I get excited about a girl, and every time I get butterflies and sweaty palms aroubd a girl, this happens. Every. Single . Time. I'm done. I don't know how old you are but eventually you get to be so dead inside that you don't have to worry about the butterflies and/or sweaty palms anymore and you can just talk to women with very few expectations.

How is that good lol. If I am dead inside I can't possibly love another person.
Lani Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 How is that good lol. If I am dead inside I can't possibly love another person. But they can bring you back to life, like a beautiful butterfly!
edgygirl Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Depends on what you like. If you like douchebags or attention seeking " look at me " harley riders then yeah, come on over. Really? I've heard that people around SF are much more cultured than in main East Coast cities.
MrCastle Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Really? I've heard that people around SF are much more cultured than in main East Coast cities. Lol yeah. New York is like one big uncultured blob.
fortyninethousand322 Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I've been there OP. Some guys never end up doing well with women. Just don't marry the first girl who ever gives you a moment of attention. That's a bad idea, even though I know it's tempting.
Author Keenly Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Really? I've heard that people around SF are much more cultured than in main East Coast cities. If your definition of cultured is snobby and stuck up. People look down their noses at you.
edgygirl Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Lol yeah. New York is like one big uncultured blob. Well well that's exactly where I am... I interact daily with supposedly the most cultured people in the city... so I happen to know what I am talking about.
MrCastle Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Well well that's exactly where I am... I interact daily with supposedly the most cultured people in the city... so I happen to know what I am talking about. Then that makes your ignorant comment even more surprising
Alma Mobley Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Really? I've heard that people around SF are much more cultured than in main East Coast cities. In what way? I haven't found people in SF to be particularly more cultured than the major east coast cities.
charlietheginger Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Keenly you play guitar 8hours a day ? A guy i know is a guitar player he is in a lil band Plays small bars and pubs. The pay is **** the band usually gets $100bucks split 3 ways and all the drinks They want. So what happens is they set up around 10 play till 12 Make gas money and get free drinks. While they are At the bar the guys talk to chicks get them free drinks The guitar and drummer are not that attractive the lead Singer gets the chicks . So when the lead singer gets Girls interested he introduces the guitar and drummer every weekend they meet chicks alot of weekends they All invite the 3\5 girls over put on a private show in the Garage some booze and weed and all the girls are having Sex taken turns with all three of them. If you can get a lil band going and will play for free Down at the local bar on a sat night it's a great way to Get laid. If you bring a crowd then you can work on A payrate with the owner
edgygirl Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 @MrCastle: You are the ignorant one darling. And honestly, naive. I'm sure I go around in circles you don't due to your age and other things I've read here and my work experience. And no, NY is not all that. Feel free to keep thinking it is. Full of posers who are not interesting people at all, mainly in creative areas I'm around. Keenly- I don't know SF and that area that well, but what I hear from very intelligent, left leaning, cultured people I'm in touch with is that most really interesting people are in the west. So I am inherently curious about it. Can't judge though. Not into snobby people. We have enough of them in my city, who think they are something because they made it there, but deep down are not even interesting and usually come from deep nowhere US.
edgygirl Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 In what way? I haven't found people in SF to be particularly more cultured than the major east coast cities. As I said I can't judge as I don't know but what I hear from people that lived in both cities is that people in SF are more into ideas, changing the world, less self centered selfish who only care about money and nothing else etc. I hear people are much more friendly too. I wouldn't know though. Only been there once. That's why I'm curious. Note: I am talking about creative people who are into alternative cultures as indie/industrial music, arts and such as this is the kind of people I'm interested in.

I'd love to form a band but I can't be in a one man band.

Right, because NYC doesn't appreciate the arts. It's not like we have some of the best museums in the country, or some or the more acclaimed art galleries, or the fact that most actors and dancers start off here (Lincoln Center anyone?), it's not like we don't have hipsters (the village, williamsburg?), or accept every ethnic background, or embrace and accept homosexuality. I don't know what part of NY you live in, but sounds like you've never lived here. 1

Author Keenly Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Can you sing? If so, then you can, of course, form a one man band.. I can sing. I'm working on singing while playing. One of my videos is house of the rising sun, I think I pretty much nailed it for the basic equipment I'm using ( phone... Lol )

They're always good for meeting people, and doing what you love.
edgygirl Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Let me translate this for you. Change the world = behavior control. Hmmm really? I had the impression people were more accepting over there. I.e.: I have friends who have punk rock industrial haircuts who come from there. In NY, they had to change haircuts just to be able to get a job, even though they work in creative areas. There's a behavior-looks hidden policy in the East Coast that shows the hidden waspy base where people's culture comes from. From my friends perspective, this doesn't happen in SF. People don't give a **** how you chose to look. Obviously this is a small example but I think shows a lot. How can people be creative in an oppressive environment? Didn't mean to jack your thread though sorry.
Alma Mobley Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 As I said I can't judge as I don't know but what I hear from people that lived in both cities is that people in SF are more into ideas, changing the world, less self centered selfish who only care about money and nothing else etc. I hear people are much more friendly too. Note: I am talking about creative people who are into alternative cultures as indie/industrial music, arts and such as this is the kind of people I'm interested in. I haven't lived in NYC, so I wouldn't know either. I know the types of people you are talking about as I have friends like that who are indie types. Let me tell you, though, we have a lot of posers here too. Lots of trustfunders who think they know about the world but don't and follow the latest trends, fads, etc. And a lot of people in SF care very much about money and status which extends to the types of social causes they support. All very shallow. But I have met really creative and genuine people who came here looking for what you described, but really... People are kind of the same no matter where you go, so I suspect there is a lot of overlap with NYC. I will say that people here seem more laid-back, though. 1
