julia5111 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I broke up with my boyfriend this week after we have been together for almost 6 mounths. The problem is that on facebook it still says that we are in a relationship, but we are not. When is the right time to change it, or should I wait until he does it? I don't want to hide it from my profile or something, because I don't want people to think that we are still together... So, how long should I wait?
veggirl Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Do it now. I would just change it so that it says nothing.
Debbie Marie Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 You can briefly hide your relationship status, then change the status, then unhide it - at least it doesn't go on the newsfeed that way. People will see it if they look for it but you won't get the comments.
TheGuard13 Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 It being Facebook...shouldn't you wait for the time when it will have maximum dramatic effect? You can hide the status, or you can change it whenever. Consider this, though, if you're looking to date, changing your status is a sign that you're "available" to interested parties.
KatZee Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 You don't wait at all. IMO you've waited too long. Why leave that there? My ex of almost 3 years dumped me and my status was changed 30 seconds after that text message. F.uck him. I'm not going to sit around and wait for HIM to make the change.
Author julia5111 Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Thanks for the responds I changed my status today after reading this, and it feels good!
Samilia Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 Do it now or get hurt when he decides to put his status to single. You can also put the status to nothing, leave it blank, so the "<name> is now single" wont show up and start a bunch of questions. Srry for any typos I'm on my phone.
