socrushed Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 i'm moving out of my parents place for the first time. i've never lived with a roommate before, or away from my parents. i found this guy on craigslist, in his late 30s, and i'm wondering if i'm in danger of getting molested or raped or anything? i'm a guy, but this guy says he doesn't want female roommates and prefers a guy. he seemed very enthusiastic to have me as his roommate. He has a great job but he's still single and didn't talk about women at all. when we met, we talked for a couple hours and he just talked about his job and politics. Am i just being paranoid?
WhatYouWantToHear Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 Yes paranoid is the word for it. Instead you should just be leery (paranoid light). Hang out with this guy before you move in. Take a road trip to a casino or sporting event and hopefully far enough away that you have to stay in a hotel with him. That will allay your fears and let you know if you are a good fit. Hopefully it will all work out and it won't be rape, just good consensual sex.
