Someone you feel you belong with, and they feel you belong with them. Someone with the same goals and dreams and personality traits. I had a best friend once and we considered ourselves kindred spirits because our likes, dislikes, passions, goals, and priorities in life exactly matched each others. I've heard it used more with non-sexual friendships, whereas, I've heard the term "soul mates" refer more to romantic unions. Some believe that a kindred spirit is just that -- the spirit of someone who has not yet been born, or perhaps has died, and that spirit is like their own and somehow linked together. There are all sorts of meanings depending on your own POV. Do a search for Kindred Spirit and see what you get. There is some interesting stuff out there! I would like to hear other definitions of a Kindred Spirit too.

I was thinking maybe a kindrid spirit was like a soul mate, but now that you stated a soul mate might would be more like a romanitc thing, where as the kindrid spirit was more like a friendship thing, I see where that makes sense. I'll do a search like you suggested and see what it says. Thanks again.
