Emanze Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 Hi there! So I was in a long term relationship, broke up last year. Mydating skills are rusty. Ahem. I've signed up for online dating. I've gone on two dates and both guys didn't call again. The first one was mutual. But the second....well, help me figure this out! We went out twice...I'm old school, don't do hookups and like a gentleman. He was those things, text immediately after our dates, we saw each other twice in one week. Each time he asked me out. Couple days went by, didn't hear from him. I sent him a hello text, got an icy reply. So I'm confused. Maybe he met someone else, maybe he changed his mind, ok, I get that. But I've now had two dates and both guys faded on me. It's odd because I've had a strong response from my profile. I don't mean that as bragging, it's flattering. Im pretty happy with my life, with myself, but these two experiences are little dings in my armor. Can't stress enough I haven't dated in a long time, lol. Suppose I need to toughen up. If you have any advice, I'd love to hear it. Thanks much!
mortensorchid Posted January 21, 2013 Posted January 21, 2013 THis is what I have learned about OLD, it bares repeating because I never cease to be amazed at how all who do this fall into the same patterns. If you have not heard from him within 24-48 hours after the first get together, he will just be a friend. He MIGHT call/text you again within the week, but he's not all that serious about you. You might even have a second get together with that person, but don't hold your breath after the second get together that you will be see them again after that. I don't care if the guy is a ditch digger or a corporate CEO, that's how it goes. As of this date, I have had three serious / semi serious relationships with all the guys that I have met online. Two of them were actual bfs that I was with for 6 months or so, the other was about 6 weeks. They were the exception as far as I'm concerned.
