Anela Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 FITNESSMEMBER.COM SEPTEMBER 9, 2011 0 Regular high doses of vitamins C and E after sports training block beneficial effects of exercise, the team found Dr. Michael Ristov University of Jena, quoted by the BBC and “Daily Telegraph”. Some doctors believe that antioxidants like vitamins C and E protect the body from harmful chemicals that are formed in the body after strenuous exercise. German expert, however, argue that “free radicals” are actually good for the body and even prevent diabetes. Their withdrawal with antioxidants may be more harmful than helpful. After study of two groups of 20 men, Dr. Ristov and his colleagues discovered that free radicals, which cause so “Oxidative stress” can have a positive effect on the body, increasing its sensitivity to insulin. It is known that in patients with type 2 diabetes reduces the sensitivity. Rather than take vitamin supplements researchers recommend that people consume a healthy and varied diet. It will provide the necessary nutrients and not to impose acceptance of additional vitamins. fitnessmember.com/fitness/vitamins-block-the-effects-of-exercise/ A friend posted this elsewhere.
Toddbt12y1 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 I have actually never ever heard of that LOL. Should I put My Flintstones on the desk?
FitChick Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 So take your vitamins before exercise or many hours later. 2
Author Anela Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 I have actually never ever heard of that LOL. Should I put My Flintstones on the desk? This was news to me, too. I've just started taking my Alive chewables again, and the books I've been reading all talk about oxidative stress being a bad thing. Maybe if I stick with the vegetable juice, that will be okay, since it's food, only juiced. *edit. I usually take my chewables as soon as I get up. And the B12 under the tongue.
Toddbt12y1 Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 LOL to be honest, I haven't had vitamins in a while. If I did, it would be time cycled before a workout. Long before. Much like everything else I'd take. Guess I can't complain but thanks for the info. 1
