Els Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Elswyth super stalker sleuth :laugh:Hey, I was a little puzzled by the 'kid' comments because to me, the girl looked about the same age as me or slightly younger. So I looked her up, and I was right. I'm fairly sure that her face wasn't what you were looking at when you chose her avatar, though. Here's the thing. Lets say I found out that there is a an indie punk rock band playing at a bar on Friday. So I ask you. "Hey Elswyth, there's an indie punk rock band playing at a bar on Friday, want to go with me?" What I don't know is that you like me but you don't like indie punk rock bands, so you tell me no. What I need to do is somehow express my interest and then somehow figure out if the girl is interested and then plan what to do. The best way to get over this problem is to talk to somebody a few times and figure out what they like, but then I'm afraid if I take too long I'll get friendzoned I wish I could have a conversation like, "I think you're cool." "I think you're cool too." "OK lets go do something then make out." I don't think you need something so very specific, unless you know the girl very well. A popular movie or popular restaurant is a much better bet for someone you don't know well. Just have SOME ideas in mind (yes, more than one, just in case she doesn't take coffee or meat etc) so you don't do the dreaded, "Errr, I don't know...." thing. Also, if I liked a guy and he asked me out to a place I didn't enjoy, I'd specifically ask if we could go elsewhere, not give him a blanket no.
CptObvious Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 On the topic of "types" While my type is tall, only one guy I dated was taller than me. All the rest were shorter than me. I'm 5'7. So even though I prefer height, it's not a dealbreaker for me. Basically, as long as everything is put together correctly and in the right place (no 3rd arms sprouting from your sides...) and the guy appears to take care of himself and have good hygiene, he's golden in my book! I know this is not normal... I have SEVERAL female friends who 50000% refuse to even acknowledge the men who aren't there ideal... "blonde hair, blue eyed, tall, perfect teeth, skinny yet muscular, etc..." - I've watched them turn down perfectly lovely guys. ...skinny yet muscular? what the ****? give the bitch a dictionary.
deekay Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) i'm just wondering.. when you ask a girl out on a date, do you literally say, "want to go out on a date with me?" am i the only one that doens't say this? i usually tell her, "let's hang out this weekend." then i'll treat it as a date.. unless she decides to be a bitch and says, "YEAH WE'LL HANG OUT BUT DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT FLIRTING WITH ME.. i have a pepper spray" Edited January 22, 2013 by deekay
