Allumere Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Today has been BAD. In fact, the whole months has been but today the scale tipped. Ex and girlfriend are on a wonderful cruise...UGH (not gossip I needed to hear). Just a gut shot. Last year I was so very happy, I had all the hope in the world after waiting so long so meet someone. I took a huge risk even meeting him for a date because he was so outside of my norm...and was risky on paper. There is no lesson to be learned from this, I have not grown as a person, no memories are happy at this point....I have spent 8 months wrecked. While he found the love of his life (everyone I have dated or been with..a short list...leaves me and marries the next person every time). Just so tired of being alone.
Sari Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 I know it's very painful. But you just haven't met the right person yet. I have trouble reconciling myself with this, because I thought I had met the right person, but I know he couldn't have been, because he left me! The right person will cherish you and won't give up trying. The right person will have your happiness at the forefront of their mind when they make a decision. The right person won't just cut and run with no good reason. Big hugs x

Author Allumere Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 curious what "risky on paper" means. Risky for me in that he was way outside my type from looks to the fact that he had 4 kids (older) and I had avoided dating gents with kids because I have zero experience (not a kid hater by any stretch but at my age it is a scary undertaking). He has had many major career & life changes so I wondered if this was simply someone who had no problem reinventing themselves and taking risk or was this someone who couldn't figure out what they wanted to do when they grew up and a screw up. Add to that a financial mess, and other things and well...but there was something that just struck me about him and made me say yes. Now more than anything I wish I had said no.
