I'm starting to think you just pose as being autistic so you can get sympathy sex or something.

I mean...if you're autistic, somedude is my Aunt Sally.

 I almost wish! I have the statements to prove my diagnosis unfortunately :o.

When you're a high functioning autistic, you learn masking techniques, so that you can somewhat overcome most of the basic difficulties that most people notice. The overly sensitive skin, the monotone speaking voice, the complete lack of understanding of social cues, the meltdowns (yes, I have those occasionally too), the sensory overloads, echolalic episodes, obsessions etc. I could go on, I exhibited all of it. I have a better handle on it, but some is still noticeable - I still go on tangents, my skin is still unbelievably sensitive (on the plus side, I'm easily aroused by touch :lmao:), I will never have an "innate" understanding of emotions and social interaction, I still have sensory overloads and occasional meltdowns etc. Also I still get obsessed with things (and people lol).

It doesn't go away - I'm just an expert at hiding it :p. If you knew me in real life, you'd notice .

You build up on that foundation. I still have a lot to learn about talking to girls, bout at least I have the confidence to approach them. For practice, I talk to random girls, even if they are not attractive or have a boyfriend. You should try it. It will build your confidence as well as help you develop social skills.

You kinda have to become obsessed with it if you want to vastly improve. I'm a rapper, so I have to be able to use my voice to convey emotion if I'm writing a story track or talking about something of some substance. I had to literally study everything about communication, the voice and everything.

It's good to practice the way you do, that's application there :).

Once you build up enough callouses, you can start to get bolder, start asking women out, understanding more about banter while doing it, soon enough you'll settle into a natural mode of talking that will suit you well ;).

I think your OCD is your blessing, to be honest. It's what allows you to learn more about yourself and improve what you need to improve on.

It is with me. I'm a lazy ****. I really am. I'm also very emotional and can be overly moody at times. But if I like something....no...if I LOVE something...I obsess endlessly about it and work tirelessly at being better at and because of it, everything that's ever been important in my life (career, love, my kids) I've excelled at.

Embrace who you are...always.
