Lonely Ronin Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I put some examples earlier in this thread. They are completely true. Being a jerk within itself will not earn women, but a good looking, suave jerk will beat out an awkward or blah good guy 9 out of 10 times. as you said yourself only initially though. I mean honestly whats the point if you can't make it past a handful of dates.
JuneJulySeptember Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 as you said yourself only initially though. I mean honestly whats the point if you can't make it past a handful of dates. No. Not initially, because women will date the jerks, sometimes for an extended period of time and they won't even consider the good guys. And usually, TBH it's the jerk who does the dumping. I mean, I'll be honest, I know some truly good dudes who are good looking who do well with women. But that only proves that it's all about looks. So, that doesn't leave the confused men any better off.
Pyro Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I put some examples earlier in this thread. They are completely true. Being a jerk within itself will not earn women, but a good looking, suave jerk will beat out an awkward or blah good guy 9 out of 10 times. Being a good guy by itself isn't going to get you far, just like being a jerk by itself. The good guy needs to add some humor, assertiveness, and flirtyness into the mix and he will beat out the jerk. The good guys will get the good girls and the jerks will get the leftover women who have some sort of self esteem issue. No sane girl is going to purposely keep a guy around who makes her feel inferior. 3
HitMeNow Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 From someone who had the same question and tried being a jerk for a few years, I ll give you a few hints. 1. Jerks are really just sexually frustrated. Every person that is mean to some other person for no reason, is frustrated with their life. 2. Being a jerk will mean that you will not be afraid to put yourself out there, which might improve your success rate at first and give you more experience of social interactions. 3. Ultimately, being a jerk DOES NOT WORK. BUT... It will give you some instant gratification. It will teach you a bit more about the other end of the spectrum (think of a totem pole with nice and jerk in each end). But in the process you will not build any real connections and your social life will be ****, because noone wants to hang out with a jerk. Cheers,

Although the woman I have would never date a jerk. Oh hell no. I can't even see her with someone like that. She would be gone so quick...
Author Sun Devil Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 So far, no one has shown that being a jerk is a bad idea. You dont see jerks become an incel, only nice guys. The question is if the jerks get girls just through their confidence or is it due to the drama created
chex Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 So far, no one has shown that being a jerk is a bad idea. You dont see jerks become an incel, only nice guys. The question is if the jerks get girls just through their confidence or is it due to the drama created See, the thing is that "jerk" generally just means confident guy. And no, the drama isn't awfully attractive. And on the other end, the "nice guy" in question is an insecure guy who's too afraid of rejection, and doesn't have the same walls built up to prevent emotional hurt as a "jerk". You can be nice and confident, but that demographic appears to be vastly underestimated here on the internet. (You don't hear much about the unconfident jerks either .. probably too busy in their dark room with their laptop on and their trusty tissue box by their side) You won't get any lasting relationship by being a complete dickhead. You'll get one by being a unique guy with a healthy amount of confidence. 1
KungFuJoe Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Had a talk with my wife about this just now. I asked her if girls like "jerks". Used that word specifically. She just said "no". Then I asked her if women liked guys that are "bad". She said its not that they are bad...it's that they aren't "pushovers". So there you have it. You don't have to be a jerk or be bad. Be the guy that opens a door for a lady. Don't be the guy that lets her wipe her feet on you before she enters.
Woggle Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Being a jerk will get you the kind of women that most self respecting men with something going for them don't want.
phineas Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I never had to be a jerk for my dating life to improve. You don't either - in fact, it might backfire on you I used to think not making women I was casually seeing a priority & concentrating on myself & my own projects was being a jerk. I used to think ignoring women who I felt were wasting my time was being a jerk. Turns out I was wrong. Women almost universally are attracted to this type of behavior in the early stages. Then expect more contact once things get rolling. Women who who are f'd in the head are attracted to the drama jerks create. Yes, it is baffling how the majority of those women always seem to be smoking hot. But trust me, you can play the jerk role to get them but once you have them, only a true-born jerk actually likes being with these types of girls. They are exhausting & test you every step of the way. They play the victim really well but all they are is major game players, manipulator's & users.
grkBoy Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Some people tell me that I need to start being a jerk to women in order to get them attracted to me. Being nice has gotten me nowhere and I want to know if there is anyone here who became better with women by treating them like crap. Treating women like crap only works with the low self-esteem females, and you still need to have the good looks, money, excitement, etc. to just initially attract them. For those particular girls, they fantasize about the hot Ken doll to make their lives perfect, but instead they fall for a Jekyll and Hyde scenario...meaning the guy initially is a suave gentleman when he wants her, but later drops the act hoping he can get rid of her to move on to the next female. So in the end, if you're not what these women want in terms of looks/money/lifestyle, being a jerk to them will only make them label you as a loser, a bitter nice guy, or just a jerk. You need to be the guy who sets their hormones on fire so you move from "jerk" to "challenge". For me (a relationship-minded guy), I found that simply having a backbone does much more than being a jerk. Women tend to look down on guys who put up with their crap. So when she's having her irrational insecure girly problems and she lashes out at you when you did nothing wrong...I'll walk. I'll show I won't tolerate drama or immaturity. That's what made them respect me and thus even want to keep me. You don't have to treat women badly, but you have to show you'll easily walk when she's not respecting you or herself. You have to show you won't be her therapist or "savior", and you are a man. 1
SilentVoice Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 This isn't a guy thing. Guys eat it up when I am a complete dick to them. I am basing this off of the club scene. When I tell guys all my options and how they contact me in a demanding voice. However FYI club scene - most young guys and girls go for this but do you really want people like this?
KungFuJoe Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Is this the real life? Hey guys, I just asked a woman what she wants/is attracted to in men, here's what she said. Guys this came from a woman, take it seriously. It's better than all the hypotheticals we get around here.
