Hi,

My ex and I have been broken up for 2 months. Did everything I wasn't supposed to - crying, begging, constant contact, checking up her profile on FB every 3 mins .. you name it. Have been NC since 01-Jan (06-Jan if unfriending on FB is included). She did sent a text 4 days later asking why I unfriended her on FB. I didn't reply to her and deleted the message instantly. In fact, i have deleted all contacts, texts, FB chats and stuff so I don't have a way to contact her any more.

After going through all the pain and suffering, I am slowing moving on. I adopted a dog yesterday (she had a dog and while I was initially uncomfortable I started to like him) and am imagining talking to her what she would think/say of the dog and so on. I have never owned a pet before and this thing is new to me. She (the dog) is kinda feeling uncomfortable in the crate and I don't want to let her out as she is not house trained. I badly wanted to call her (don't have her number though .. so I need to add her on FB first) and ask her for advice/suggestion.

Sorry for venting. I thought this post would help me ease a bit. I am gonna see who else can help me with my dog though. I got a dog to get over her not to get back with her.

Thanks for reading.

There are a lot of articles online about dog training. What kind of dog did you get? Also, kudos to you for adopting!!! :)

A friend of mine went through a horrible breakup and her therapist told her to get a pet and it really helped her. If anything, it was something to keep her distracted. It will make you feel a lot better knowing the dog is waiting for you at home and loves you unconditionally.

Thank you!

Yes I did find a lot of articles online and my first dog as a dog owner has been very eventful! She is a lab/retriever mix and is 2 yr 6 mo old. Since she was with the rescue for 6+ months she forgot all she was trained to do. It has made me think about my ex a lot today but my hope is that those thoughts would change soon.

Break ups are painful but at least i hope the dumpee finds such forums and other videos the very next day. With internet at my finger tips, I was still doing all the crazy stuff. Can't take the past back but can definitely build a solid future I believe :)

I have 2 dogs already. After the breakuo about three weeks I wanted to adopt everything out there!!!! I wanted everything to be loved! :/ a little overboard on my behalf. Strange. I felt like I could connect with everything and had sympathy or them!
