The above are the worst and best case scenarios. Now lets look at cake eating (not leaving the marriage): 2. OM tries to continue to eat cake despite the d-day and says he loves you. However will not end marriage. Love within the broken bubble or pure selfishness. Regarding the feelings of love: It is quite likely that there is real love within the affair bubble. The problem is that the bubble mostly affects the married AP. After NC there is withdrawal. After all the MOM was in love (most of the time). This has helped me a bit, as the OW in an A. I believe my ex was the above categories I've quoted. He truly loved me, and he tried to leave his marriage (wasn't even married yet), but due to unforseen circumstances he lost that ability and choice, so had to stay. Despite many d-days, he still stayed with me because he loved me, but then it got too hard, after one last d-day, and the bubble well and truly broke. So now I'm out of the picture.
