ls32ssibm Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Anybody been to one? Last month, I signed up for one at some bar/club I had never been to, but backed out on the day of the event because I had read some reviews that they were like adult versions of awkward middle school dances. Well, I saw one last week for a laser tag event. Strangely enough, it's at a rather crappy mall like 5 miles from my house on the 26th. It was 20 bucks to go, so I said screw it and signed up, seeing as I love laser tag and can never get my friends to go with me anyway. Well, I just checked my e-mail and it filled up already. 20 person event - no indication of male-female ratio but it promises to keep it even. Still, I can see it being a bit awkward. Especially if it ends up being a sausage fest with like 2 or 3 chicks. How many girls actually like laser tag? Or rather, attractive ones anyway. I'll bump this later on when it happens. I may do some recon and pose as a random mall patron the day of and skip out and cut my losses if it looks horrible.
Treasa Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 *headdesk* Yeah, because a woman can't be attractive AND into things that aren't stereotypical... 1
veggirl Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Think about it, if they made the events "sauage fests" word would spread pretty quickly and men would quit signing up. I am sure they do an even ratio. I'm sure there are plenty of women who would sign up for laser tag. I wouldn't...my bf made us go to laser tag once and I was awful at it and the stupid backpack thing was heavy lol. I finished 3rd to last how do you lose to 7 year olds?! 1
Nightsky Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 It wouldn't be hard to make it an even ratio. Personally though I've found a sausage fest can some times be a better environment to meet a girl... I'm not saying I'd be happy about a sausage fest... just saying it's not the kiss of death.

I guess it depends on the competition. The thing is, on the actual Match SITE, the well is pretty dry near me. Actually, within a 25-30 mile radius. And, like I said, this place is right near my house. You are allowed to bring friends so I guess that's the best case scenario - that the gals bring along an attractive single friend.
Keenly Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 I was in a social circle that did weekly laser tag "all you can play" nights at the large laser tag course in a city near me. 2/3 of the people there were girls.

Interesting, how did you get involved? Were they all friends beforehand? As I said I enjoy lasertag, and the place the stir is at kinda sucks (guns are horribly calibrated) but there is a better place further out.
Keenly Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Well my friend was one of the people making the night happen. I just got lucky. Go as Dennis Reynolds and use the DENNIS system and you will be just fine.
