Ok i know it sounds silly for a woman to have trouble opening up to her fiancee' but i do, i just dont like feeling vulnerable and in some weird and crazy way i associate my opening up and telling him how he makes me feel as being weak and sappy. HELP! I need advice and cant seem to find anyone thats not one-sided to talk to about this

Knowing nothing else about you ...

It sounds like trust and intimacy issues - which uktimately suggest not loving or valuing oneself.

I would consider IC.

wow u kinda hit the nail on the head with that one! its hard to come to terms with your insecurities and ur right i dont value or love myself like i should and how can i expect someone to love me if i dont love myself...i just need to figure something out quickly because its ruining my relationship, i've been with this man for 10 years and its to the point where hes tired of trying.

This kind of thing has caused me problems in the past too....I'd suggest some counselling to get to the core of your self beliefs. It can be very eye opening and can help you move forward. And also read about it, as much as you can.

Maybe have a think how your relationship with your parents in your early years could have shaped your self beliefs - although this may not have anything to do with it. If you can learn as much about yourself and why you feel like you do, that's half the battle. Good luck :)

thank u...i was thinking the same thing about my parents but i didnt want to place the blame on them but i guess what you see your whole life shapes how you turn out as well, whether that be good or bad.

It's not about blame, but about figuring out why you feel the way you do and where your self beliefs come from. You can then use that insight to change your way of thinking and to move forward.

There are many articles you may find of interest on baggage reclaim. Worth a look. Remember that the person you are is ultimately within your control - you just need to learn as much as you can about yourself and understand why you feel the way you do. A little vulnerability in the right situation can do us good.
