crashvector Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Came back in from a ride on my bike...hit the shower, and was tired so I took a nap. Yet again...I had a dream about her...a very touching dream in fact. As I was sort of in that "twilight" state of waking up, for a few minutes, I thought it was real, or that we were still together at least. Like...I almost reached over to get my phone and text her "I just had THE sweetest dream about us....we were getting married :)" I got halfway through typing the text before I realized it..... GOD this sucks.
tinkerbash Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 yeah dreams are the worst part especially when reality hits. I am in the non sleeping stage at the moment , the thought of the back together dream is scaring the hell out of me , its painful enough to be awake! stay strong . it hursts i know i have hope for a good nights sleep some time in the future.

Author crashvector Posted January 7, 2013 Author Posted January 7, 2013 Thankfully my dreams have stopped.....they were horrible. Stay strong. I've only been sleeping about 2-3 hours a night because of them.
tinkerbash Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 maybe some stronger sedatives are in order. i was recently told by a fellow member to visit my doctor? may help!
Coping Vortex Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 I got a subscription of Xanax from the Dr.. I am not a pill taker but I have to get more than 2 hours sleep as well. I want to fast forward to next December already. I know this will be monts or even years for me to get over her.
tinkerbash Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 yeah i know im on day two we both have a long road ahead and its not going to be easy either. i have no idea what xanax is or if we even have it in scotland but i would take anything right now for a cure.

I'm a nurse lol I could get them if I wanted them....but I dont want to impair my ability to do my job safely. People's lives are quite literally in my hands.

FailedFirstLove Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Try thinking about other things before u sleep. I left dreaming of my Ex as well but now I think the dreams are slightly better -.- lastnight made me feel like I'm forever alone without a soulmate now that I've lost him.
XKatieX Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Dreams are my biggest setback right now. The night before last, I don't think I dreamt of him, woke up and I actually felt pretty great. I didn't think about the break-up, and I felt really good about myself. Fast-forward to last night, I had 2 or 3 bad dreams about him and now I'm back to feeling the emptiness all over again. And...it made me break NC, great...just great!
ScienceGal Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 @katie. Sorry you broke NC. Don't be discouraged though. Just get back on track. For me, I don't know which dreams are worse, the ones where we are happy and back together or the ones where I try to go to him and hold him only to get rejected.
Coping Vortex Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I got alprazolam for the anxiety and to help me sleep. Dr gave me Paxil then I tried Lexipro I never got past two days on each the side affects are bad. I use the Xanax to sleep. Otherwise I get shock and wake up. Its like my body jolts me into reality that she is gone. always when I'm sleeping. Xanax keeps that from happening.

They also have strong anti-anxiety properties...lexapro moreso than paxil. Two days isnt long enough to have side effects on these, as it takes 2-4 weeks to build up in your system enough to have any real effect. Although, the side effects CAN be pretty severe, especially for men. That is also the exact reason I am taking xanax....I only sleep 2 or 3 hours as it is...and even then, I dream about her and then wake up in a panic when I realize the dream isn't real and she really ISN'T laying next to me....

I can't be stoned I need to work LOL!

I can't wait 8 weeks for them to kick anyway I need relief now. I heard its bad to mix Leixpro with Xanax.

Try Immovane- I don't know the generic term for it but it gave me sleep after my last break up and I felt rested but never "altered". I didn't get addicted, it just gave me respite from my insomnia.
fancy feast Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 If you watch cartoons while you fall asleep, you'll probably have some freaky dreams. It might not be any better for getting sleep, but it won't be your ex at least.

itsmyfault Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Stick the dreams out, They don't last long. Mine came after about 2 weeks and only lasted for 1 week. I haven't had a single one since.
