I'm sick of online dating and all the emailing and texting back and forth. With telephone dating you hear their voice and go right to the phone and set up a meeting after 2 or 3 days. The process is quicker and no typing is involved and you can get a feel for her personality.

It's not the voice that really lets you know someone is attracted it's how they are talking that lets you know. I can easily tell when someone is attractive based on how they are talking.

That brings back a great memory/nightmare of such an experience in the late 80's where one such telephone date turned into a courtship/relationship/thermonuclear meltdown all on one long cold weekend night on the phone Ah, those were the days. You're doing OLD wrong then...usually on my 3rd or 4th message I ask for a casual meeting and it usually works without fail in getting that meeting if we've been exchanging a couple emails.

News flash------There are free web cam sites where you can talk and actually see the person with whom you're speaking, no need to text, no need to revert back to the phone. Nowadays, microphones and cams are built into most computers.

I'm trying to remember the name of the software, but I did VOIP chatting back in the mid-90's on dial-up, back before cell phones and cheap long distance. It was clunky but did work and it was kind of cool to hear another person's voice come out of the computer speakers. The problem was finding a lady tech-savvy enough to do it. I don't care about her voice...there is only two people I've never met whose voice I didn't like, but wouldn't keep me from dating them if there were was enough about them that I liked (not to mention I'll always be more curious to how accurate their pictures are than what their voice is)

 

I use to ask for numbers, a couple women were a little shy about it and wouldnt do it, but a meeting for a drink or coffee is cheap, causal, and low pressure. I've grown tired of talking on the phone, I much rather talk in person. I just like to get that first meeting out of the way as I can't find myself really getting to know and grow to like until I've met them.

 

I also have found phone conversations with people I haven't met to be kind of dull..not sure if it is because I havent even met them in person before, compared to say meeting a woman at a party, or perhaps I've just grown rusty as I've had long successful relationships since college
