rocketman122 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Old Spice or Drakkar. Drives the women crazy!!!! both were great for their time. too old style for me though. I do use old spice body gel when its on sale which is nice.
counterman Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Yep, I love that one! My current fave is Paco Robanne (sp?) Millions. I just love it. If I were a dude, it's what I'd wear all the time. Paco Rabanne 1 million, all the guys at the clubs wear it but it definitely a compliment-getter. I haven't heard of a guy who has worn this and hasn't gotten many compliments. I would wear it if it wasn't so popular
ChatroomHero Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 I use a cologne called Chrome. I get a lot of women asking me what it is. I'm like you, minimal, used to use ones like Coolwater.
Author jcrew11 Posted January 8, 2013 Author Posted January 8, 2013 I use a cologne called Chrome. I get a lot of women asking me what it is. I'm like you, minimal, used to use ones like Coolwater. I've never tried YSL fragrances, but they are apparrently really popular on Basenotes. They also seem minimal to me. But I don't think they are "girl-getters" like Curve, that women really really like. I just think women like the scents that they are familiar with, so they like colognes that tend to be similar to Women's perfumes without being too girly. Colognes that are fruity or flowery. I'm also going to try some Vanilla colognes. They should make a cologne called "chocolate chip cookies"
Author jcrew11 Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 I prefer just clean smell or a light one like CK1. I have asthma and although perfume ON me doesn't trigger it (I've been wearing Obsession for years so am used to it), strong scents on others can. I think CK Obsession is a stronger fragrance. I'm surprised you wear it if you have asthma. CK Eternity is lighter and I think smells better.
MoreThanThat Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I think CK Obsession is a stronger fragrance. I'm surprised you wear it if you have asthma. CK Eternity is lighter and I think smells better. I didn't have asthma when I started wearing it and it's never caused issues for me.
Author jcrew11 Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Burberry Touch... oh my! I'll try Burberry but they seem expensive.
jeremy2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I've been thinking about buying a new cologne and want one that would attract women. Which colognes are attractive to women on men? I've bought some of the lower-end and popular colognes in the past, but I want something a little nicer and more expensive. I'm willing to spend some more because I view smelling nice as essential to attracting and keeping a woman. Some colognes are more for the "office and work." I want something that is specifically seductive for date nights, bars, and clubs. I used to have Coolwater, but its kinda bland and doesn't stick out. I like Aqua de gio, but it always reminds me of my Italian friends. I also like Drakkar Noir because its very clean, distinct, and crisp. For some reason I never wore it in the past, perhaps because I thought it was too strong for going to school, but I realize now its perfect for going clubbing. Which other High-end colognes are good for single guys? Hi, I think this is a toughie. The top aftershave for men or cologne would greatly depend on the woman's taste or at times the man's standards. there are those which are too strong which makes women move back. There are some which are too weak that disappear after a few minutes. It would be best to go through malls and test for a few of what could be your choices.
Michelle83 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I love Aqua Di Gio for men... it's by far the best scent out there. I've loved it for years and nothing compares. I am a bit proponent of good smelling guys. If they smell good, I get weak fast.
Mr_Flay Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 A lot of women I know absolutely adore Armani Code. However, it's so popular now that you'll only be one of many guys who own it. There's a similar smelling eau de toilette, and three times cheaper too, called Antonio Banderas' Golden Secret. It's a dark, slightly sweet smell, great for formal/business situations. I've also received a lot of compliments for my Hugo Boss Orange, which connotes youth and freshness.
RedRobin Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 sweat......... I prefer a man's natural smell.
Majoras Mask Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 (edited) Love cologne on a man when you can only smell it when close. Drives me wild. The BEST smelling ones in my opinion are basically anything from Abercrombie & Fitch or Hollister. Dont laugh, the colognes they sell smell AMAZING and at least for me have a very animalistic appeal. Also....for you guys saying Old Spice...Seriously?? That stuff is soooo old fashioned and just Blaaaa. Anytime I smell that on a man I think they are waaay out of date. I'm 33 also so not exactly a youngin'.....just my opinion. Edited February 19, 2013 by Majoras Mask
blindotter Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I think all colognes smell terrible, but I also dislike perfumes. I tend to like a person's natural scent if I am attracted to them, and cologne confuses my spidey sense. Old Spice = my dear old Dad, btw.
animalover Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 This is a funny one... it is like asking what color do you like... everyone has a different taste... so what conclusion would you get from it?
IndianGuy87 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 The ones I'm using right now are Armani Code, Chanel Bleu, Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme, Carolina Herrera 212 VIP, and Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey. I like smelling differently every time I go out.
Mme. Chaucer Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Anything by Creed. Department store fragrances = boring. If you use Axe you should be banned from public places. Just a note to the OP - I don't think that single women have any different opinion about men's cologne or suits than married ones.
Mme. Chaucer Posted February 27, 2013 Posted February 27, 2013 Does Old Spice really work? I always thought it was for old men. Old Spice deodorant is good.
thecrucible Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Understand how perfumes work. Eau de toilette - you can spray everywhere Eau de parfum - stronger and you only need a little dab of it otherwise it'll be overpowering. Also helps to be somewhat aware of what is trendy and what isn't. You don't want to be smelling like an old man.
soccerrprp Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 (edited) My gf bought me Gucci Guilty for Men. She really likes it and I think it's okay. I don't ever wear nor have I really put on cologne. I only put the cologne on when I see her. I find cologne, perfume a little distracting unless it is very subtle. My aftershave does the trick and is enough really. Besides, I'm naturally flowery-fresh! No artificial scents needed. I actually prefer the ladies not to wear perfume, but if subtle enough, i'm ok. Shardish Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Le Male - Jean Paul Gaultier is what I wear most days.
ThaWholigan Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Tell us more. I know it's an affordable cologne. BTW, Acqui Di Gio was incredibly disappointing. Very generic smell. Kinda like old spice. Totally unimaginative. It's not too overpowering, quite a light fragrance. I actually like it more than obsession.
Kingtut380 Posted February 28, 2013 Posted February 28, 2013 Polo Blue - nothing else is ever needed.
