I know how that is, too.

I'm pissed now, but nothing that says in 10 minutes I wont be crying my eyes out all over again....

Yeah my ex was the same.. couldn't change her mind at all. Or when I thought I had.. the next day she reversed her decision again.

Truth is we can't change their mind. All you can do is be a good dad and let things play out themselves. I didn't do that and if I had let it be.. maybe things would've gotten better. No way to know for sure, but I think one thing I learned is to let things settle down.

This is a chance for you to start a NEW life about you. Now you can do things for yourself and spend some time with your kid. It will be tough for sure, but I learned it's LIFE. It's so tough... and only the strongest survive. And I know you will too slowly you'll adjust to the way things are and accept it. I know it's been 5 months for me and 2 months NC.. but after 5 months of no physical contact... it does fade slowly. I expect it will take a full year too heal.. so I'm half way there now.

tomorrow's gonna be a hard day...gonna go get my stuff at her house and bring back all the stuff she gave me for Christmas...like that stupid "Adventure Journal" that I dedicated to her with this big long, mushy diatribe on the inside cover and a bunch of pictures of us in Alaska.

I have no idea what she has for ME to take...but I think I'm gonna take the bag..not even look in it..and toss it in my "junk room" and close the door. anything in there will only serve to hurt me by reminding me of all the times spent at her house.

Other than THAT...I spent the day taking down Stephanie, my mountain bike and rebuilding the shock and front fork.

No, it didnt NEED it...but it kept me busy for 4 hours.

Oh God, how often do we have to say it??

Closure never comes from 'them' - not from meetings, confrontations, coffees together, looking in their eyes and dammits, or any form of discussions after the event.

Closure isn't down to them.

They've already GIVEN you closure by telling you it's over.

Letting go - is closure.

Nothing else will do, and you have to do it.
