Gambler1984 Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 About a month ago, I met a girl online. This seriously is the nicest girl I've ever met, very sweet and congenial. We talked/texted for about a week and then met for coffee. It went well, she was said to call her. I did and setup a date. We met, I paid for dinner, it was fun and went well and we went to a movie afterwards, I paid again, though she offered. It was a late movie that got out at 1am! At the end of the night we hugged, I tried to go in for a kiss and got rejected. She said she doesn't kiss, cuddle, etc on a first date. That's pretty normal. She is a very reserved and big Cathloic woman, 29, grew up in ND. I believe she is a virgin since she doesn't believe in sex until marriage, which I respect. I setup the second date. We were going to go see this theatre play but spent too much time in the restaurant so we missed it. She inquired about going to a comedy club so we found one with an open mic night. Where I think I went wrong at dinner that time was when we were paying, she asked how I usually do this as in pay. I piped up stupidly and said, "well with my ex, we would often alternate paying." She seemed cool with that and picked up the check. I later paid for the drinks at the comedy club. It went well again I think and she let me pick her up at her place too for the second date. She is in a play most nights for another 3 weeks yet, so her schedule isn't real great. At the end of the date, I hugged her and went in for a kiss again and got blocked. She said she wasnt ready yet and said she would let me know when she was ready in a non awkward way lol. I wished her and her family a MErry Christmas on Tuesday and she did the same. We've texted a bit since that date, and she's asked questions when I've told her things. I left her alone for three days and called last night to setup the third date. I left a voicemail with a plan in place, but I told her I had to work early this morning. I have yet to hear anything from her. I'm worried I messed up or she's not interested like it appeared she was. She is very reserved so I'm taking that into consideration when it comes to the kissing thing. I tried contacting her this evening and asked if she okay in general, person to person and told her why I liked her, how I thought we were a good match, etc. She replied back about an hour later, pleasantly saying, "Hi (my name), sorry for disappearing on you. Would you be available to meet for coffee possibly tomorrow? I'm free up until 4pm." I assumed this was to let me down face to face and it sort of was. After two dates she said she's having a hard time finding the romantic spark and I feel with online dating that's pretty common. I know with my ex that happened initially but then we gave it time, etc and it worked out fine. She said she's not good with dating or knowing what to do. Also mentioned the mexican janitor at the school she teaches piano at is pursuing her too. She sees him on a regular basis while being there. She said I have what she's looking for, but he doesn't, but also, she's able to get a better feel for him due to seeing him at the school weekly. I held her hand and told her she's what I'm looking for and she decided to give it some more time with me. She said she's confused, likes spending time with me and is interested in what I do, but it confused. I'm glad I met with her and we discussed all of this and that I hope she follows through with her word and gives it more time with me.
ChessPieceFace Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 She's pursuing other options, you should do the same. If you just hang all over her I don't see anything happening with her, based on what you said about her reactions and just based on the unfortunate way womens' minds work. However, if you make it clear that your options are open and that you aren't just sitting there like a chump waiting for her approval, you'll be a lot better off. The bonus of course is that if she does reject you, you have other things going on as well.

May jesus bless you two to be together:)
FitChick Posted January 3, 2013 Posted January 3, 2013 If she prefers the Mexican janitor to you, that is a slap in the face. I see the garbage man twice a week but I would never date him!
