Dear 2012,

F*ck off!! In fact, tell 2011 to F*ck off too.

Hey 2013,

You better hold on. I'm going to ride you like I stole you.

2012 wasn't a particularly good year for some of us on here. What do you have to say to it?

Like a wicked storm that damaged what you thought was your's, you realize that once you clear away the wreckage you are still standing and stronger than ever. Than you can look in the mirror and think I'm so glad I'm me, that there is no one else I'd rather be.

2013 and every year from now on, means so much more, because what didn't kill you made you stronger. Only selfish and weak people tear down others in order to lift themselves up. That despite this, you did not allow it to break you.

You know that...instinctively, that those who respect themselves and others are indeed special.

This year is your's 96....and you just know the second half of your life will be the best part of your life. Happy new year to you and to the many happy new years to come.

bye bye! there are some experiences I could have done without.

2012, you were like a roller coaster ride....but compared to what I have been through...you were certainly a kiddie ride. The lows made me appreciate the highs and when I was high I soared. So thank for everything. Just like your sibs before you...I get stronger every time I walk away in one piece.

I just want to celebrate another years of living! I just want to celebrate another year of Life!

All in all I've had better years, and I had worse! At least I'm not "Up in tha' S***!" in Iraq, Afghanistan! That's a BIG PLUS right there! Being able to just jump in tha' car and go for a Sunday drive without having to worry about such nasty things like........................snipers, IED's, incoming!

Not having to worry about who and where the Wife is! Got a new Lady in my life. Mrs. Gunny ~ things improved and got 1000% better six months ago when she moved it! :) :) :) :) :)

I got a job!!!!!!! Its not much, its ridculiosly low paying, no paying, dead end, no future, little or no chance of advancement,................but Hey! I could care! I'm a retired United States Marine Corps Gunny and all that that entails!  Push comes to shove? I can (and am) look for another one!

Kids are well and doing well! Ditto for the grandkids! :) :) :)

Worse off than some, better off than most! Its all gravy from here on! Nothing but pure gravy!

Thank you, 2012, for making my life better. Thank you, 2012, for letting me have a life.

I started the year with a sexless marriage and an extra 40#. I ended the year weighing what I was when I got married and enjoying more sex than I have in many years. (Yes, with my wife!)

A number of problems were solved (at least for now). A number of issues were resolved.

And as Gunny said, thank you for another year of life and thanks for delivering me into a new year. I have much that many only dream of and yet I have much I can still dream about and look to achieve.

As I hear of those who feel that 2012 was a lousy year, I am grateful that I was blessed with much and had many great memories.

However, as an optimist, I must admit (as always) that the best is yet to come. :)

F*** 2012. It was so painful, not just because of the affair, but because of family members with cancer, car wrecks, and lost jobs.

I hope so much that 2013 will be better!

I've snipped 2008 as a year I'd never want to repeat. No other comes close. Funny...right when my marriage bombed, so did the economy. Ironic.

The numbers just mark time. It's what we do with that time that matters.

2012 was a good year, though it ended badly - Loss of a dear friend, tragically. Not a nice way to start off 2013.

Thanks! 2012 was a good year overall for me, and I was hoping to see more people who felt the same way. :)

I wish everyone here who did not have a good year...and those who did....a great year in 2013.

2012 was a great year. I made it to 50 (which seemed pretty improbable back when I was 20), and have a nearly brand-new grandson who I get to see every day. And enough chores and work to last until I'm 80.
