irc333 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I was wondering, I have seen some dating profiles that tend to elaborate on what people like to have done to them physically....in a romantic sense, some even more so. They tend to describe their sexuality IN their profile as well, and I was wondering if this is to get men who are reading her profile a little hot and bothered at times. lol For instance, I've seen profiles of women that describe, "How I like it when a guy passes behind me, and touches me on my hips slightly." or, "I like little cute, post it notes left by him occasionally, or just calls to say "Hello". I've actually seen profiles of what women don't want either, I saw some woman described how she doesn't like it when a guy tries to "spoon" with her when she's trying to sleep.....apparently it's stifling and she gets hot. Is this kind of thing normal, would giving this amount of information let guys think they might be getting some action? I just feel that is a conversation left to face to face honestly.
rocketman122 Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 I love it. I like it when women write personal stuff about them. I can tell alot about them that way. it shows they are open and arent afraid to say stuff about themselves. I also like it better then the generic stuff people write. better TMI then TLI IMO
Radu Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 It could be that they are projecting what they would have liked differently with their former/current guy. 1
El Brujo Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 Some of those profiles amuse me, and others repel me. I get a kick out of reading the ones by women whose idea of fun is similar to mine... but I get turned off by the ones where a woman has to brag about all the other countries and planets she's been to or the risky-taking things like bungee jumping and skydiving she's done. But I'd have to say most Americans in general don't like to read (it's that creeping stupidity!), so there's little point in writing a long profile. 1

Or....these are ladies who are not on there interested in having a relationship and looking to scam you once you've taken the bite and you've allowed your organs think for you! Or...worse, she's not a classy lady and probably not worth the trouble... For me, I prefer if the ladies tell me these things when we are comfortable having a mature conversation, face to face...
CarrieT Posted December 31, 2012 Posted December 31, 2012 It ultimately worked for me - but I took my profile from POF and OKCupid to a sex site... I molded my vanilla dating profile and added a few of my sexual proclivities, emphasizing the fact that although it was a fetish site, anyone who wanted to get involved with me had to go through the path of Intellectual first, then Relationship second, then Sexual. It was easier to weed out those with whom I knew I would not have the same sexual interests and compatibility, but also enabled me to find men with the same vanilla interests. Besides, there were a LOT more guys on the fetish sites motivated to meet people!
ls32ssibm Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 OkCupid is the worst. If someone has filled on many questions (like a lot of people do), you know basically everything about them sexually. "Hi, I'm John. I see according to your profile, you had a threesome and enjoy anal licking".
mortensorchid Posted January 1, 2013 Posted January 1, 2013 I don't get why it is that those websites even allow it. If you are looking for said annoymous hook up, that's one thing. But if you are looking for something other than that you have another thing coming. And yes, OKCupid is the worst on that. I just skip the question. Because after all, most of the time on every website people just look at pictures and send an email/wink.

I also hate it when guys brag about what countries they have been to and I never believe the bungee jumping/sky diving b.s unless there are some actual pics. I hate the generic stuff too. People just need to be REAL. I don't mind reading a profile that is a few paragraphs long, but I hate it when guys have 2 or 3 sentences, especially on paid dating websites. You pay all that money and you don't put any effort into your profile. Makes no sense to me.
