MissLY Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I've been dating this guys for 2 months. When we go out on dates, we normally meet at the destination. He never usually picks me up. For New Years Eve, he suggested that I park my car at his place and we can take his car from there to the restaurant. I don't really have a problem with that. But I was curious, is it considered a red flag if a guy doesn't pick up a girl on dates?

MsSmurf Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 For the first few dates I think it is better to meet at a mutual and public location. Safety first you know. After you've gotten to know him then it is ok for him to pick you up or for you to meet at his place or whatever. Two months is more than enough time to rule out any safety issues and be comfortable. Do you 2 live on opposite ends of town? That could be why he doesn't pick you up, but it would be nice if he offered once in awhile. What does he say when you've asked him about it? For your new years plans, are they closer to his place? Will you be sleeping over at his place after your outing? If so then yes it does make sense for you to meet at his place beforehand. 1

The restaurant for New Years Eve is located in Malibu (about an hour and a half drive). I haven't asked him why he doesn't pick me up, it never really came to mind until just recently when my mom said "he should be picking you up!" And that got me thinking. lol. So that's why I'm asking, to get other people's opinions.

Maneater Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 No it's not a bad thing unless he lives really close to you. If he's more than 25 min away then it's silly if he has to back track to pick you up. Also depends on the rest of the relationship. If he's treating you well in other areas, this is a non issue. He's picking you up for NYE bc it's a long drive so that makes sense and is the polite thing to do

But at the same time she also thinks that a woman must be able to cook and must obey her husband ... 1
