Mr.White Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 (edited) 1 week since break up, 6 days NC and I will be getting a new cell phone and a new number. Question is do I tell my ex of my new number? We have a few mutual friends and I will be alerting them of my new number (One friend is her best friend as well) Reason for the break up from her POV: "I don't know what I want, I want to be single though" Ended on a good note, no arguing or fighting. Possibly down the road I will take her offer of just being friends (Platonic friends of course though) Edited December 29, 2012 by Mr.White Break up reason
Simon Phoenix Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 No. She'll probably get it from one of the mutual friends, but you yourself should not give it to her.
Keenly Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 You really shouldn't. I can see no positive outcome from that.

Author Mr.White Posted December 29, 2012 Author Posted December 29, 2012 No kids. I need to stick to the NC rule I have in place with my ex, time to go read Tara's NC thread again ^.^ Phew! Thank you LS for clearing my clouded thinking again.
TaraMaiden Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 Ask your friends to please respect your privacy and not give out your number to anyone else, regardless of who they might be. It goes like this - someone says to me: "Hey TM, do you know Mr. White's new number? I need to ask him something." "Yes, I DO know it, but I'm sorry - I'm not about to give it to you." "Why the hell not? He's a good buddy, he wouldn't mind!" "If he's that good a buddy, why don't you have it already? Tell you what - I'm seeing/speaking to him <whenever>... I'll ask him if it's ok to pass it on to you. Better yet, give me your number and I'll give it to him, if you want...." No way do I ever - under any circumstances - abuse a friend's privacy or friendship by assuming it would be ok to give out their number. Someone did that to me, I ripped him a new azzhole! 2
Samilia Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 If someone wants your phone number, they can ask for it. Rolling the red carpet isn't going to change his mind, will make you look weak though. So, no.
Art_Critic Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 No, you don't tell your ex... People normally get new numbers to get away from the ex..
