yappy31 Posted December 25, 2012 Posted December 25, 2012 Hi everyone, I am a freshman in college. During my first month of school, I met this girl who was in the same class as me. She had a boyfriend since the beginning of Summer that same year but they both go to different colleges about an hour away from eachother. They both go back to the same city for the holidays and Summer break. For about a month we hung out often and we both knew that she had a boyfriend at that time (who was supposedly okay with her hanging out with me). After a month of hanging out with her, I later found out that she broke up with her boyfriend after 3 or so days of arguing. She said the he was too clingy and became unreasonable in telling her who she can and cannot hangout with to the point where he said "No more hanging out with guys". During the next two weeks, I started to develop feelings for her and finally asked her out. We dated for about 3 weeks until one day she started crying saying that she wasn't over her ex. She and her ex we're still in contact ever since we started dating and I told her I was okay with it (so as not to seem too controlling). At first i decided to give her space so she can try to get her feelings together but she started crying even more. I felt bad so i decided to continue being with her. About 3 days later, she breaks up with me saying that she liked me at first, but things just didn't click. I asked her if she was going to go back with her ex. Her response: "I think I'll stay single until the summer and then maybe get back with him." She told me that I'm not a rebound, but in my mind, I feel that I was. Next thing I know, they get back together one week after we broke up. She texted me the next couple days, but I ended every conversation giving her the impression that I wanted to be her friend. My heart wants her back but my brain is telling me no. Right now, I'm trying "no contact" but I don't know if that's the right thing to do. I want her back because I feel that we were great together but her confusion and her ex being in the picture was what caused our relationship to end. Although I'm trying to convince myself that she wasn't right for me to help me cope with the breakup. What do you all think I should do at this point? Should I try to get her back if her current relationship doesn't work out or should i just move on? Thank you for all the help.
