Have women overtaken men in the shallowness department?

Men usually get blamed for being the more superficial ones who are slaves to their hormones and only care about looks but recently it seems men are much more lenient lately and women on the other hand have turned into men where looks are the most important thing

 

I see tons of couples nowadays where the man is clearly better looking..and online dating forget about it..its basically tons of very plain women going after the hottest guys..

 

Add in the whole height thing where a lot of women would choose their shoe over a potentially great guy and if a guy still isnt taller then them in her huge heels hes dismissed..

 

It seems as if shallowness and vanity in women has reach new heights these days no pun intended

Good topic, women have options so the average woman is way more picky than the average guy.

Depends all on the people who told you that, nerds are typical low confident losers.

 

Most women do not like nerds, so you liking them does not change reality even if you are actually "hot".

I think both sides are about equal. However, I'd say I've seen more women at least try and look past appearance to try and make love work than I've seen men do the same.

 

There's been a lot more times where I'm like "she's dating HIM?? WTFFFF. She can be doing so much better!! :mad:" than there's been me saying "wow he's dating her? what does he see in her? he could do so much better"

Men will always be more into looks than women. On the flip side, women will care more about status than men.

 

It's how the world works and one is not more shallow than the other.

 

The sooner you accept it and just move on with your life the better.

It isn't so much looks as cues pertaining to a woman's fertility is what men focus on while women again focus on cues pertaining to a man's status for the most part.

As I said before - I've been with one rockstar, with a guy who has a TV show in a main channel. Honestly they can get any woman they want. Just a few examples.

False women care about looks more than men. Why else would men's facial bones be far more developed than women? Why would female skin lose collagen faster than male skin? To be attractive as a woman you only need good proportion. To be attractive as a man you need good proportion + well developed features.

 

i would venture to say that men are the more aesthetic sex, objectively speaking. in nature, it is generally the male of the species who is more colourful, more well-defined and beautifully proportioned; the female is always drab in appearance and boring..

 

the reason women appear "attractive" is purely hormonal; men have 20 times more testosterone than women and therefore have a stronger sex drive, whereas women hardly feel anything. when the hormonal element is removed, women appear in their natural relation to man, i.e. as less attractive

Okay folks! Since my last response got removed by the mods, lets see if this one passes the test.

 

There are three(3) possible answers to this question and many others on this lovely forum!

 

1. Yes! Woman ARE more shallow than men. They love to shop for trivial items, they spend several hundred dollars on shoes, handbags, makeup, and fake nails. What kind of deep, thoughtful creature who looks beyond appearances or money would do this? Men, on the other hand, care about the content of the character more than what she dresses in. Poor men have no recourse in what their third leg does when it notices the rich and plentiful personality and intellect of a woman.

 

2. No, men ARE more shallow than women! There is a specific reason why women put so much effort into their appearance, and that is because they know that men will be more attracted to them. How many times have we seen men desire a beautiful woman, without knowing anything about her other than her appearance? Which invokes more envy from other men: a guy with a knockout or a guy with the "great personality" girl? To go even further, how many men are lead to do stupid things or lose their common sense by an outwardly pretty woman?

 

3. They are equally shallow. Some women disregard integrity and get swept up in his dreamy features. Nice guys, alpha males, beta males, cereal males, even males who walk backwards and sing "Baby, baby, baby" from cradle to grave, if he's hot, she wants him. In this way she's exactly like a man. The sexes can do a little jig to rustle each others Jimmy's with money or charm or fancy cars, but in the end it comes down to "I like you, and you like me."

 

So, there you have it. The answer for 90 percent of women vs. men threads. Pick whichever suits your fancy and have a nice day!

It's amazing what ordering top shelf whiskey can do for your attractiveness in women's eyes when you're sitting at a bar.

 

I had two women come up and try to chat me up while out with some friends last night. I was ordering Johnny Walker Blue Label @ $25/shot. Some woman was standing next to me and heard me order that and she instantly turned, made a comment about my drink of choice, and started chatting me up. She wouldn't have noticed me if I had been the last guy on Earth, otherwise.

True. Social status and power are a well known aphrodisiac. It goes back to the jungle and savannah. The biggest silverback, or most accurate spear hurler got more attention from the opposite sex.
