na49 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Just got a text. "I know we left on bad terms but I'd like to be friends" Promptly ignored it. Came on here and made a thread. Thanks guys. 4
movingon12 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Oh she will be so mad at herself for caving right now Well done for staying NC. 2
Author na49 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 I'm happy that at least I know she just wanted to be friends. No more analyzing anything. I don't want to be her friend so I'm free to ignore it. She's got guilt, guilt and more guilt on her plate right now. and I LOVE IT! 1
Chi townD Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 FINALLY!!!! You probably feel sooo relaxed now that you know that's what she wanted. Of course, you already knew that because you stated that she makes it a point to be friends with all of her Ex's. But, I understand the nagging questions of "What if it isn't?" Good job keeping NC throughout all of this. This text must have given you some type of closure. 2
Author na49 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 FINALLY!!!! You have no idea man. I did know that was probably it, but of course there's a part of me that kept nagging me with that exact question. "Well maybe I'm special, maybe I get some special treatment as her ex" NOPE! and that's fine, my special treatment was for her to cheat on me and treat me like garbage (oh boy!). The text definitely gave me closure. She doesn't want me back, she's feeling guilty. It must be bothering her, I didn't get a text yesterday, two late night texts the two nights before and then a text probably as soon as she wakes up today. NC works it's wonders again, and I'm feeling great. Now I feel the next thing for me is a text from her something along the lines of. "Okay, I tried to be the bigger person, you're really immature, never talk to me again you jerk, this is why I dumped you. I hate you, my friends hate you, I'm so happy I left you, blah blah blah blah blah blah" Thread coming soon
Chi townD Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Or just blocking her. You got your answer. Why put up with anymore of her drama? Now you know and you stated that it gave you a sense of closure. 1
cavalier99 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Great job not caving! You are officially a man again! 1
Author na49 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 Definitely considering it now. It won't be as tough knowing that she just wants me to ease her guilt. Not even an apology in all of this though. I guess that's to be expected, why would she admit she cheated? I know this much, she's definitely not a friend to me. She hasn't done anything to show me that she is. She never will be either. She will have to deal with the fact that there is a guy on campus who DOESN'T think she's a nice person. Who doesn't think she's all that, and it's no one's fault but her own. She wanted me out. She's got her wish. I'll go back to school next semester with a fresh start, join some clubs hopefully, new wardrobe, meet some new people and love college life. 3
Chi townD Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 And now is the time to get with some friends and start saving for a Spring Break trip! She's keeping tabs on you or at least trying to. It will burn her ass knowing that you're going. "What? He's going to Cabo San Lucas? Without me!"
Author na49 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 For sure, I'd love to something fun like that. I think it's burning her ass knowing that I'm not her obedient dog anymore. I'm on the fence about blocking her. I must admit, I feel good when I ignore her attempts to be "civil" with me. Blocking her on facebook after she unblocked me on facebook felt nice too. She seriously knows when I'm not thinking about her and that's when she strikes. It is getting old so I probably should block her and be done with it. I don't have any questions on anything anymore which feels great, and I won't feel emotional about cutting the final string of contact because the contact won't help me anyway.
Simon Phoenix Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Nicely done na49. Now execute the block and live your life.
Author na49 Posted December 20, 2012 Author Posted December 20, 2012 That's really all that's left at this point. As fun as it is ignoring her when she tries to talk to me, I don't need to be reminded of her existence. I'm right there, just have to execute it and focus on me.
ryanmatthews58 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Arrr at least you are now out of that situation. Just friend situations are the worst.
Samilia Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Just got a text. "I know we left on bad terms but I'd like to be friends" Promptly ignored it. Came on here and made a thread. Thanks guys. Loving the text "I'd like" not "we", like she's calling the shots good job on NC!
Author na49 Posted December 21, 2012 Author Posted December 21, 2012 Loving the text "I'd like" not "we", like she's calling the shots good job on NC! She really does feel like she calls the shots. That's how she was during our relationship too. It was ALL about what she thought. It's still that way lol, doesn't matter what I'm thinking. She wants to be friends so SHE feels better about everything. Writing all of her flaws on here make me wonder why I stayed with her for so long. Love really does make you blind I guess.
