sweetkiwi Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Personally i think the sexiest things about anyone are the things you can't initially see. You have to delve a bit deeper for the truly astonishing things in everyone. 3
somedude81 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 somedude, Since you always harp on the importance of looks (and I'm not disagreeing with you)...what have YOU done to improve your looks? How's your wardrobe? How's your hair? Do you do your eyebrows (yes, sounds gay, but MOST men need this)? How's your body? Are you trim and fit? All those things I mentioned are things EVERY guy can do to make themselves more attractive PHYSICALLY. If you're just sitting behind your computer, while your hair is a mess, your clothes are 2 sizes too big for you and were bought by your mom, your eyebrows look like two large caterpillars made a home on your brow, and you have the physique of Tom Arnold...well...that's YOUR fault. Also want to add...teeth. TEETH ARE MAJOR. Are they white? Are they straight? I'm growing my hair out to try a different image. Experimenting with facial hair, or not to have facial hair. Eyebrows are fine and I make sure to not have a uni-brow. There really is nothing I can do to improve my head other than plastic surgery. Clothes are fine for the environment I live in. I'm sure I could dress better but I'm on a very limited budget. I'd say I dress a little better than the average college student, and yes I'm in college. My clothes do fit though I do not wear very tight shirts. My body could be better though I would have to go through a dramatic change to look any better with clothes on. I don't even think I have the genes to "get huge" so nobody would really notice a difference unless I was wearing tight clothes.

This might sound retarded (or not) but google your face type and appropriate hairstyles. You can do the same for your face type and facial hair. Basically it goes into maximizing what you have and "hiding" what you don't. Same with eyebrows. There are "rules" on how thick they should be and how far out the extend and how close as well. Again, these aren't rules set in stone, and you don't have to follow them at all if you don't want, but they give you an idea of where to start. Also, you MIGHT think your clothes fit, but odds are...they don't. Google the same for "how to tell if my clothes fit". You don't have to get huge...in fact, SKINNY IS IN. Yes, you heard me. Skinny is in. You want to get trim and fit and try to get a tapered look (wider chest than waist). That means working out a bit (maybe 3 times a week for 45 minutes doing compound exercises like bench/squat/pull downs), but mostly eating right and healthy. And then, YES, you want fitted clothes. You WANT people to notice your body, assuming it's where you want it to be. Find a cheap tailor in your area. Go to pinterest and look at Mens Fashion. You'll get an idea of what looks good, colors that go together, styles that work. A lot of the stuff is VERY fashion forward (and I wouldn't be caught dead in) but you learn how to recognize style and you should try to find what works for you. SHOES are ultra important. Can never have enough shoes. Or shirts. Pants are the least noticed item of clothing. So if you are on a tight budget, worry about tops and shoes, then just get a couple pairs of jeans (they go with everything) and maybe some khakis. You don't need a lot of money. Shop at Target/Kohls/H&M. I go nuts at H&M. How's your posture? Slouching is one of those things that you probably never even notice if you do it, but is one of those subliminal things that others do and it affects your attractiveness. If you have bad posture, take measures to fix it. BTW, I'm not pulling all of this stuff out of my ass. Pretty much everything I just mentioned, I do/have done myself. With VERY positive results from my wife, family/friends and people I meet on the street. 1

Your fashion sense could use improvement.
sweetkiwi Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 You got it kungFu. There ARE hair styles that compliment every face shape. I am a hair stylist, makeup artist, facialist, and nail tech. Sometimes natural is better but there's usually room for improvement. Teeth are incredibly important. I used to have an underbite and canine teeth that were too high. (i looked like a bulldog even though my face was beautiful). I got braces. Now i have a perfect smile. White straight sparkly. People look at me in this order: boobs, smile, eyes. Fix whatever bothers you. Feel better. 2
TheZebra Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 While your physical self is obviously the 'greeting card' whenever you introduce yourself to someone, it takes a lot more than looks to keep a girl's interest. From your posts on here you seem to have a pretty negative attitude and I wouldn't be surprised if that comes through when you're talking to women IRL. No woman wants to be around someone bitter or sad all the time. Make sure you're a positive, happy-go-lucky, confident, and ambitious person who wants to improve themselves and women will flock to you regardless of what you're wearing.

You had no style and your clothes did nothing for you. Your fashion sense could use improvement. The only picture you could have seen of me was unedited version of this one. It was taken during June/July in SoCal so no way was I going to wear more than shorts and a t-shirt. I probably should have worn black shorts to contrast with the shirt. And yes I know I need to lose weight. I thought the fit of my clothes was fine and anything tighter wold have looked back on me. I'd also like to gain more muscle to counteract me being 5'6. Being skinny is the last thing I need. Edited December 20, 2012 by somedude81

You could stand to lose a few pounds, but you aren't seriously overweight or anything like that. You could probably trim up nicely in a month or two if you were serious about it. Maybe even a month if you are young and your metabolism is high. As for the clothes...eh. It's casual wear so not much can be said. I don't dress much better when I'm out when it's hot, although, imo, I don't like the shirt (the hem lines are awful and it doesn't match your shorts) and the watch seems a bit "douchy". Big watches are OUT. quick tip: Grey is your friend. Seriously. Grey goes with EVERYTHING. Every item of clothing I have (shoes, belt, pants, jeans, shirt, dress shirt, ESPECIALLY suits) I have in grey. Don't get too crazy with grey though cuz it can get boring.

Being skinny is the last thing I need. Yes, that was it. The shorts are awful. The shirt doesn't match. I grew up in a beach town in the South. I'm used to very hot summers and I'm used to guys in shorts, t-shirts, and flip flops into December, but not all casual clothes are created equally. Nothing wrong with trying to improve your style some. Most guys could use some help when it comes to fashion. Personally, I prefer thin guys, so losing a few pounds would be helpful. The guy I date who was 5'6" was 135 lbs. and I thought he had a really good body. Edited December 20, 2012 by iris219
Lonely Ronin Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Yes, that was it. The shorts are awful. The shirt doesn't match. What she said man, you've got 3 different styles going on in this photo. 1. preppy shorts 2. GQ watch 3. I'm not sure what style I would call the t-shirt, but it doesn't go with the other 2.

Ross MwcFan Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I think somedudes clothes look fine in that pic, it's the sort of stuff you see most guys wearing. Grey would look way too boring.

Mrlonelyone Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 There is a HUGE difference between being unique and being sloppy. Yes a matter of taste. Anyone remember Grunge. 70's Funky styles late 60's hippie styles. Or the saggy baggy pants off the backside of today?
Lonely Ronin Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 4 His own style and not some canned copycat of what's on TV. Nothing wrong with your own, style, but SD doesn't appear to be the type of person who is going to role with own style and own it like a trend setter would.
Ross MwcFan Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I really like his T-shirt, kinda reminds me of those Global Hypercolour ones from the early 90's. 1

I'm not saying wear ALL grey...I'm saying you should have each article of clothing in grey because it's easy to match with anything else. And if you're buying a first suit, you should ALWAYS get charcoal or dark grey as it's the most versatile. Contrary to popular belief, black is the least favorable colors to get in a suit because it is one of the least versatile colors. Anyways. The fact that you said "most guys wearing" proves me point. Do you want to be like "most guys" or do you want to "stand out in a crowd"? Everyone is on LS because they want to be noticed by the opposite sex, right? And everyone is SOOOO caught up on physical appearance. Most people only think about the neck up...something you can't really control much. But people should be also focusing on the neck down...where you have as much control as the next guy. Working out, getting in shape, dressing sharp. I can say with personal experience that since I started dressing better (which was really just a few months ago when I had an epiphany on my clothing after I lost about 25lbs) people treat me better...I get compliments at work, at home, from friends, family. People DO treat you better when you are dressed well. And when you get treated better by others, it builds on your own self confidence.

Please, please, PLEASE don't take this as being mean. But, the fact that you mentioned "global hypercolour" as something you LIKE just proves HOW IMMENSELY wrong you are.
iris219 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Could we see a pic of you and see what your fashion sense is like? No, but I can tell you that I always look cute and fashionable. Today was a casual day where I only ran errands. I wore skinny jeans, a plain white T, a fitted dark yellow cardigan, and brown suede flats. I wore a simple silver and turquoise necklace and my nails are painted mint green. I got compliments on my nails several times today. 1

Lonely Ronin Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 SD, this would have been a better look for you, notice how the t shirt is a color in the shorts. http://www.shoppersbase.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/canterbury-plaid-shorts.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jvA-1UBvysg/TTR9XwwJ7NI/AAAAAAAAAio/chHEr8-sAOI/s400/plaid+shorts.jpg http://aka-img-2.h-img.com/media/img/b/hn/3208981/4835173718951421056.400_600r
