I'm new to this site, yahoo answers didnt appear to work very good

I think my friends ex-girlfriend might be into me, and I think last summer I started to fall for her. When she broke up with my friend before I left for college, she texted me and said she was going to ask me on a date, but didn't want my friend to find out or to emotionally hurt him. And, back when she dated him, she was always clingy to me, told me I smell good, and told me I was cute.

Shes like a sister to me, she's my sister on facebook. 2nd semester last academic year was really when I started to think she was into me. She repeatedly kept texting me saying things like "love you, miss you, and come visit me!", with a bunch of smiley and frown faces.

I miss her a whole lot, she comes home from college in a few days, and I got her the new Taylor Swift CD for christmas, and I asked her to take me shopping for clothes sometime while we're both home. Any advice on what I should do? I'll post more stuff as it comes to mind. :)

I have a feeling you'll get some pretty strong signals from her once you are actually in-person. Texting is one thing (I say "love you" to a best friend all the time) but it's all about how she acts around you. Do stuff together and it'll develop naturally. Good luck!

Hi Green!

Asking her to go shopping with you was a smart idea! When you're out, flirt with her and see how she responds. Stop somewhere and have lunch or a snack. Pay for her meal. That's often my first clue that a guy I've been friends with for a long time actually likes me. Flirt a lot with her over your meal and see if she reciprocates. Then just bite the bullet towards the end of your outing and tell her you'd like to take her on a real date sometime. If she says yes, make sure you set the time and date. Have a few date ideas in mind that you can suggest, when you ask her for the date.

Good luck!:)

Thanks for all previous answers, I have an update.

This past Friday, she came home from college for Christmas Break. The day after I was working at my mothers business for some extra money, and her twin sister texted me and asked me if I was there since they live closer to the business than my moms house, and they briefly stopped in. I almost teared up when I saw them. She hugged me the longest and hardest out of the both of them, and I instantly knew she probably still had feelings for me.

I seriously think I'm heartbroken when I'm not around her. I just want to hug her and not let go. She promised me she would go shopping with me, since I need new shirts when I go back to school. How do I get her to talk to me? If someone wants, I can post what she has said to me in previous text convos.

I also spoke with my friend that she dated. I causally brought up if she had feelings for her still without making it obvious that I somewhat like her. He said hes over her.
