It's not about forgetting, it's not about ignoring. It doesn’t leave feelings of anger, jealousy, or regret. Letting go isn't about winning or losing. It's not about obsessing or dwelling on the past. It isn't about blocking out memories or sad thoughts. It's not defeat.

 

Letting go is accepting. To cherish the memories, to overcome and move on. To have an open mind and confidence in the future. Letting go is to be thankful. Letting go is to learn. Learn from the experience that made you laugh, cry and grow. It’s about all that you have, all that you had, and all that you will soon again.

 

Letting go is having the courage to accept change and the strength to keep moving on. Letting go is growing up. It’s realizing that the heart can sometimes be the most potent remedy. To let go is to open a door and to clear a path.

 

To let go is to set you free.

 

But what I see most on here is how many people are faced with the most difficult decision. Whether to let go or hold on a little tighter.

 

To let go is to wonder if you lost the chance at the best thing that could have happened...

 

To hold on and perhaps the possibility of one day it being the biggest disaster ever created...

I disagree with this, sorry. Letting go is NOT the dumpees choice, you can't cling onto something that isn't there.

 

The only decision the dumpee has is WHEN!

 

They can either accept it day 1, or wait 6 months. Inevitably that day is coming!

I'm in a situation where my partner tells me she wants to break up with me but her heart won't let her let me go. I am waiting around to see if she changed her mind. we're still together and it's so hard. it's very hard to let go when you hope things will get better.
