Why is he blowing me off?

I have been friends with this guy for around 10 years. Over the years we have gone out as friends a number of times. I knew he liked me but I never wanted to cross the friendship line. I moved away for a couple of years and we continued to talk every few months over email. When I returned for a couple of months last year, he called me all the time to go out, but I was dating someone else.

 

Well, I moved back to where we are from recently. I ran into about a month ago when I was out with friends. He told me that he had just broken up with his gf of six months the night before. We talked for awhile and emailed over the next few weeks.

 

So, a couple of weeks ago we made plans to go out together. We went out with a group of friends and had a great time. He kissed me that night and told me that he has wanted to kiss me for years. My friends had left the bar we were at and my cell phone was dead so I ended up sleeping over at his apartment. (I still live an hour away) Things got more physical then I had planned but at the same time, it seemed okay since we have known each other for so long. He called me that night to make sure I got home again and he asked me out for the following weekend.

 

Last weekend, he wanted to see me Friday night and Saturday night. I had a great time with him on Friday night and on Saturday night I ended up not meeting up wth him because I felt sick from the night before. He understood and asked me if I wanted to ride the train with him the next day when I went back home bc he was going to see his family. We did. On Monday I emailed him and thanked him for Friday night and apologized for not feeling well enough to meet him on Saturday. He called me that night and left a message on my machine that he had a great time as well and for me to call him back. I called him really late and got his machine and left a message. He never called me back. I texted messaged him yesterday and he never replied to that. I just don't understand how he could be soo hot to see me last weekend and all weekend and now nothing. It is not like he is some guy I just met, I have known him for years and thought i knew him but now am confused.

It may be something simple. Maybe he misplaced his phone, maybe something happened when he went home and hasn't gotten back yet, etc. Keep your chin up. I'm sure he will call you back.
