I've been seeing this guy for 2 months. We've been doing great. He just recently asked me to spend New Year's Eve with him.

Is this a normal thing or considered rather special?

Depends on the guy, and on how your gut tells you the relationship is going. I spent New Year's Eve with a guy I was dating back in '08 who told me two months later that he had never had intentions of being in a serious relationship with me.

Just don't think about stuff like this too hard and enjoy the moment!

Really depends on the guy. Some guys look at holidays as "just another day" others appreciate that days like that are "special".

After 2 months, it may be hard to say for sure. Just go with the flow and enjoy yourself.

I'm the type that doesnt see NYE as special at all...but if he wants to spend it with you that means he likes you

Considering it's typical to kiss at midnight, it means you're the one he wants to be kissing.

Meh. I will be spending it with a guy I am casually seeing. We are not even in a relationship.....

If he asks you to a romantic new years dinner that is one on one with champagne...then yes. If he asks you to a new years party with 100 of his closest friends then no.

In my opinion New Years is a very couples-centric holiday. Everyone all wanting to make sure midnight hits and they're not standing there alone feeling like a loser.

Seen even friends who would never hook up end up hooking up on New Years (with enough alcohol) simply because they see it like Vday as some "you're a loser if you're alone" thing.

Tread carefully if you're not sure how you feel about this guy.

What if he organised skydiving with tandem jump at midnight? Is that romantic?

lol if you're adventurous then yes I think it would be....for me personally, well I'm terrified of heights and I would assume he is trying to give me a heart attack, which is far from romantic ;)

Unless he's looking for an excuse to perform CPR!
