davebla8 Posted December 19, 2012 Posted December 19, 2012 If after a first date that seemed to go pretty well a girl agrees to a 2nd date but when asked when she is free for it suggests 2 weeks away, and I then go back with a suggestion which is closer (my suggestion would have been exacly 1 week from first date - rather than nearly 3 weeks), could that put a girl off/appear too keen? This girl agreed to my suggestion but flaked on me the day before and that was that. Seemed pretty keen up unitl that point. I like to think i play it pretty cool and dont think 1 week for a 2nd date is out of the norm....maybe she just wasnt feeling it which is fine but why keep responding to my texts as normal in the few days after the first date? Just to be clear, it was only 1 date so not a big deal at all - just trying to learn from these experiences....

It could be anything from her getting back together with an ex to her just not being interested. But I agree that 2 weeks after the first date is waaaay too long to wait for a second date. Did she say why she wanted to wait so long? If she had a vacation or exam planned during that time I could understand, but if there was no reason I would take it to mean a lack of interest, and she was just trying to be nice because it's really hard to tell a decent guy that you're just not interested on the spot. FWIW I'm going through this now (sort of.) Went out twice with a really good guy but I'm just not feeling it, and I'm also turned off to dating because of a bad break-up a week ago. He's been in touch and I'm responding to his calls and texts just because I don't know how to tell him I'm no longer interested. We tentatively scheduled a third date for tomorrow but I know I need to get out of it before then, even though I've probably already dragged things on for too long. Childish I know...but people do stupid things sometimes.
Author davebla8 Posted December 19, 2012 Author Posted December 19, 2012 The reason for the 2-3 week wait were being busy at work and a weekend away. I agree with what you say - could litereally be anything. Was just strange the way her going cold was not immediate after the date but a week later, at which point her texts changed totally in enthusiasm and tone. Thanks for your reply.
