Many of us are actively dating around/starting new relationships or trying to keep ones that are a few months old going (or perhaps a bit of both). What are the rules of gift giving? Perfect Last Minute Christmas Gift | The Dating Divas In my experience these are the rules to follow. 1.) A gift cannot make someone who's not interested interested. 2.) The total lack of a gift, card, ecard or any thought at all on a holiday or birthday can make someone who's somewhat interested think twice and/or loose interest. On the whole one is better off giving a small gift than giving no gift at all unless they are sure the person is not interested at all. I am not a believer in the idea that a couple needs to be official before gifts may be exchanged.
