newmoon Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 (edited) at work. i was transferred to his office. we had never met before. i saw him my first day there and 'knew' he was the one. i told him we'd be together on my 5th day there. after about 1 month of nothing from him i just attacked him in the broom closet - kissed him like crazy and hugged all over him. we started dating soon after that and have been together since, almost 2 years :-) Edited December 16, 2012 by newmoon
mortensorchid Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Technically we met online, my last serious bf and me. We had known each other through a mutual friend's party scene. I was in a bar about 2 1/2 years ago with a friend and she pointed him out across the room. I remember he had his arm in a sling, and she asked if I knew him. I said sort of, she said "You should be with him". I said "Him?", she said "He's like you, intellectual." I thought "Hmmm, if you say so." It was in the back of my mind for a while, then one day about two years later I saw him online and sent an IM, we started talking.
CarrieT Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 Collarme-dot-com. I was looking for a Dom but got a Master instead.
Jane2011 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 The Oscars. I was accepting an academy award for Best Actress in a Leading Role, and he'd just been nominated for Best Costume Design (in collaboration with others), They did not win the big prize, but he says it was just enough to have been nominated, and I agree. 1
KungFuJoe Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 High school. We both had crushes on each other but didn't know it. We were not friends but would run into each other in the hallways, etc. I was two years older and long out of high school when I bumped into her by chance 4 years later. We went out that same day with some of my friends and ended up having sex in my car that night each of us confessing our high school crush (that hadn't died in the slightest) on each other (major surprise for both of us). But alas I had a gf at the time (though the relationship was bad) and tried to do the "right" thing by not leaving her. So I told my crush that night would be all we would have. We tried to remain friends but it was impossible (and VERY awkward) and we eventually stopped talking to each other. 3 more years pass until another fateful night when we met up by chance with friends and she ended up spending the night at my place. This time I made the right decision, broke it off with a girl I was seeing (she did the same with a guy she was seeing) and we've been together ever since. That was 13 years ago. Married for 10. Have three kids. And life couldn't be better.
KathyM Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I met my husband through my sister's boyfriend. They worked together, and so her boyfriend set up a blind date between my husband and me, and he hosted it at his apartment. It was a double date, and we had a lot in common, so we hit it off right away.
Jane2011 Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 In seriousness, I met mine in grad school, but didn't start dating him until a re-meet through OkCupid.

Woggle Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 On the boardwalk in Seaside. We just started a conversation and it happened from there. 1
ImperfectionisBeauty Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I met my last guy on POF... Didn't work
gaius Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 I met her here actually. Think I read her posts for about a year and developed a massive crush. I was headed down to the Smithsonian in DC via Amtrak for a few days with a friend right around the time my old relationship came to an end, and she lived nearby my route, so even though I had never done any kind of online dating before I decided to add a stop to my trip and asked her out to lunch. Which morphed into a dinner date, then ended up being an 8 hour first date. The longest one I've ever had I think. 2
