I met this really great girl, we've started dating and on the first date she told me that she still loves an ex girlfriend, she says she likes me and wants something with me but if her ex girlfriend comes back she will probably go back to her. I really like her already and so I am risking it, I feel like threatened by this other girl though. Logically I see that I shouldn't do this because I will end up hurt if this other girl comes back into her life, but my feelings for her have already begun and I already don't want to let her go. Has anyone else ever been in this situation? I am assuming I will get a lot of responses that I shouldn't bother with it, that I should just find someone with an open heart. She even said depending on how things go she might even fall in love with me too. I just don't know :(. If anyone has any feedback I would greatly appreciate it.

She has been honest with you, so really, the choice is yours. Either walk away now before you're much deeper than you are now, or go for it and enjoy it for what it is. Sure she may have some feelings for you too, but if that ex shows up, she's going to turn her back on you and go to her ex.

Shield your heart. Rebound relationships suck and you will get hurt.

I agree with whichwayisup.

Walking away from the feelings you have already developed will still be less painful than if you invest yourself further and have her ex come back into the picture at any given moment. The uneasy feelings you mentioned are not going anywhere and have a good chance of multiplying.

I think that the basis of the relationship is filled with confusion on her part and it seems like you'd be the one dealing with distress and uncertainty. That is no way to begin a relationship.

I wouldn't suggest continuing a relationship with this girl until she sorts herself out, you don't want to be a rebound either.

Forget her! Trust me you'll be happy in the long run. My bf of 9months, didnt love me as much as i thought he did, his still in love with his ex. I wish i had walked away when i met him instead of falling in love.

Why settle for half of her when someone else could give you they're all? think about it :)
