Quick question really.

Can anyone quickly explain the scientifics of how the body burns up stored fat? Or does anyone know a good web site with this information? For example if its true that the body burns up fat next to the muscles that are being used first before the rest of the body, etc...

Tried searching on the general search engines but alas as per usual if you type in anything to do with weight loss you get links to web sites trying to sell you all sorts of equipment and get fit quick fixes which I'm getting sick of scrolling through.

Thanks in advance.

Do a search on google for:

human physiology lipolysis

and just:

lipolysis

You would probably be better off just going to a campus bookstore with a good bio/pre-med program and picking up a freshman level human physiology textbook.

i dunno the exact equations, but do cardio and you may want to look up a form of dieting known as ketosis.

Heh, this is definitely not a simple subject, it's over a month's worth of work in even an introductory biochem course.

Now I know why I'm not a biochemist anymore.

If you really need to know the specific, go to a good library and get a good biology book. If you wanna google, google for "Fatty Acid Metabolism", or "Trialglyceride Metabolism", or "Acetyl Coenzyme A pathways", or "Ketone synthesis"

learning to burn fat

Doing cardio for longer periods of time will help you burn fat. You don't really start burning fat until after about 20 or 30 minutes.

Drink lots of water every day!

Lower your fat intake and increase your PROTEIN! Protein is the key to losing body fat...your body can break it down much quicker. It burns as energy!!! When you do have fat intake in your diet, avoid saturated and trans. fat.....look for unsaturated, polyunsaturated, and monounsaturated. These are easier for the body to break down. Lower your daily caloric intake by like 500 calories a day...you will see a difference!

I am learning all of this as I go...I have recently started a new workout regimen and healthier diet and have been working out w/ a trainer.

Good luck :)
