I tried internet dating for months on end and, despite following all available advice on putting together a good profile, no one showed any interest although nearly four hundred ladies looked at the profile. One woman was brave enough to tell me that this was because I am in my mid-fifties and have never married, so she could not have relationship with such a person. The suggestion is that I am simply not in the running.

Has anyone else had the same experience?

So what are you complaining about? I regularly go to meetups, and I've never been snubbed in person by them.

Online is a different story, I only get viewed and messaged by women who are a couple of years older than me who have kids---i.e., clearly NOT my type.

Online vs. IRL... you don't have to be Einstein to figure out which will give you better results.

BTW don't feel sorry for those online daters who never get picked. They don't deserve it unless they start going to meetups, where even a fat old nerd can be welcome.

Were you contacting women on the site? That's not clear from your post. You just mention the number of women who visited your profile. Four hundred views over a few months is incredibly low!

Both online and in real life, men do almost all the initiating. If you passively wait for women who will take the lead, it will take much longer to find someone.:) Also I would encourage you to be realistic about who you contact. Not saying this is you, but some men shoot for the stars online.
