longhornnation Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Okay, so my gf and I have been living together since august and if you saw my other thread, she has a spending and debt issue that I'm going to talk with her about, if she can't change and work to fix it we will have to split, which I'm prepping for the worst case scenario. Advice on how to breakup with someone you live with? I've never had to do this before, is a non-work night better so they have more time to get their stuff and find a place or does it not matter? Also I own the house, so most of the stuff is mine, there are a few things like a couch, kitchen table and a spare mattress that are hers, but most of her things are smaller I figured I'd offer to help move some of her bigger things to the kitchen which could be easily moved out by her and friends, and gather some of her things in boxes if she wasn't home. I'd also offer to go somewhere for a few hours if she rather not see me when she is moving some of her stuff. I expect it to be as amicable as it can be besides the heart break and emotions. Tips? or should I just play it by ear?
mammasita Posted December 13, 2012 Posted December 13, 2012 Tough one. It's usually easier when the person breaking up leaves. Does she have friends/ family that she can stay with? Would you be willing to give her a couple weeks to find a place?

Is be willing to give her a few weeks; she has a seperate room with her old bed
