snilljente Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 WHY would a man be giving you gifts and telling you are the best thing since sliced bread one day and be AWOL the next....I feel like I am freakin losing my mind....this is not a teenager, a man in his 30s....Guys, any ideas...I don't get it!!
overseas2004 Posted August 12, 2004 Posted August 12, 2004 There are men who have not grown up yet. They love the thrill of the chase and they will do anything to get you. Once you become available then they run like mad. It has nothing to do with you so don't take it personally (although I know that is hard to do). I had a guy once who kept chasing after me like that and I really liked him. When I started agreeing to go out with him etc... then he disappeared. Two weeks later I saw him at a party. I decided to be a really cool customer and act like nothing had happened but I also paid him zero attention. Well he started up the whole cycle of chasing me again.. Ahhh the unattainable.... That really helped me see what an immature creep he was. Before that I had problems understanding the concept as well. Dont feel bad dear... its not your fault. He is just not ready for a real relationship. Best you can do is to ignore him.

I can speculate for days on this. However, I assume there is more of a story to this than you have already presented. If you care to provide more details, I'm sure I can come up with something more than him possibly being abducted by aliens. Most men are not a-holes, but all men go through periods when they act like a-holes. Well, maybe most men are a-holes. Either way, everyone acts nuts. In general, however, I've noticed that, in bad circumstances, women tend to be truly psychotic, whereas men are usually just jerks.
Author snilljente Posted August 12, 2004 Author Posted August 12, 2004 I agree with you that this may be immaturity..but this man was married before....and talked about it from the beginning with me....wants a house, ring size, bla bla bla...Faux you are right, there's alot more info....it's on the Coping forum under a thread called "my bf going to jail and stressed"...I would appreciate your input...I agree that people do act like aholes and psychotic at times, but all of us girls aren't "nuts", we occasionally become nuts when guys treat us unbelievably bad and we are trying our best to figure out what happened....I have felt pretty nuts lately, but I wouldn't characterize myself as generally "nuts" .
