I've been dating my boyfriend for almost a year, and I have absolutely no idea what to get him for Christmas.

This is incredibly important to me for two reasons: One is that my boyfriend is rarely ever surprised by gifts. Somehow it always gets revealed, and he doesn't get the thrill of opening a gift and being genuinely surprised. The second reason is that he is unbelievably good at getting gifts for me. For our birthdays he got me 150$ worth of studio quality art supplies, and I got him a hoodie. I just have to get him something good!!

As far as my boyfriend, he's a student. His apartment is kind of minimalist, very little furniture or decor. He has a dog, plays Starcraft and other video games. He's kind of a home-body. He loves movies. He runs. There's not much to go on in terms of hobbies or interests I could cater to - and everything that he does, he's already completely equipped for.

Trust me when I say that this guy deserves something awesome. Any ideas?

Possibly get tickets to a gaming convention. If he likes games that would be something to consider. :3

buy him some virtual currency. If he plays BLR or APB just send him $150 worth of credits. I'd be surprised if I logged in one day and found enough G1 credits to open over 100 random chance packs. That's like... 100 presents(100 chances to get something that isn't crap)

Art supplies... can you paint a picture of him holding a sword or like inside marine armor fighting in Star Craft or something cool like that. You could make it big and put a nice frame around it.

You could also buy him a cheap hand gun. some do sell for $150.

You could get him like a 3DS

You can buy him a nice comfy computer chair, or a mouse/keyboard (separately not combo) if his is all beat up, nice headphones or computer speakers.

A new watch that can keep track of distance and times for a run but is kind of stylish/sporty like a Swiss watch, maybe some underarmor/exercise clothing or running shorts/shoes. Maybe a nice water proof running jacket if he runs in cold/wet weather.

And just look around his house for something he may need but goes the hard way about it, if he's a minimalist he's probably doing without something he could use.

As far as movies, maybe a blu-ray/dvd collection of his favorite series/movies w sequels.

If he has any knowledge of swapping out computer parts and the like (most PC gamers do). . . get him a solid state drive.

Newegg.com - OCZ Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Newegg.com - SAMSUNG 840 Pro Series MZ-7PD256BW 2.5" 256GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Couple brands I like.

These make booting a PC EXTREAMLY fast. I can boot my windows7 in 13 seconds. From the time I push the power it only takes 13 seconds before I am in. He can also put a few games he plays most on the drive. Read write times are much faster on a solid state drive. So loading his game is VERY fast.

There must be some random things he likes that you can make a gift of; some movie or character in a movie or something that he likes that you can make an original gift out of. Like.. my ex used to love this tv cartoon, Futurama, and I liked painting at the time, so I gave him an acrylic painting of what he would look like if he was a character in the show (in reality, acrylic was probably not the best choice, but it was what I had) and he loved it. Another year I went to build-a-bear and made him a stuffed animal wearing the uniform of his favorite baseball team. My examples are more of the 'look at the random stuff I remember about you' gift kind rather than practical, but only because he had a lot of money and never NEEDED anything.

something monogrammed - most people, guys included, like their name/initials. a designer watch with engraving on the back, a fancy robe/pjs with his name, cufflinks with his initials, etc. think high end and luxurious if you want to get him something great

As incredible as it may seem, there are a very few of us who don't like surprises (I know because I'm one of those people). In my case, it's because people have always surprised me with negative things.

Here's the perfect gift for the man who has everything: a place to store all of it.
