Ok,

I just started working with a new set of co-workers. I'm trying hard to get along with everyone and so far so good, but....

They began making fun of one of our trainers and they are just mean and nasty towards her. They are rude, make noises, and are literally acting like children around her. They talk even worst about her when she's not there.

I don't engage my co-workers and it's getting to the point where I'm distancing myself from them cuz I don't like two-faced people (been there, done that, I got my "survived it" card).

What do I do?

Cuz, the co-workers are noticing me keeping my distance and I have to "get along" with everyone cuz I don't want them to turn on me and I really need this job.:(

You can't keep your distance when you start a new job. You have to get to know your team and fit in not distance yourself because you will be viewed as a outcast. Just start getting to know people one by one and allow relationships to build slowly over time

Just be kind to EVERYBODY (no exceptions) and continue to keep your distance from EVERYBODY. Stay neutral, and don't say anything bad about ANYBODY (no exceptions). Middle of the road is the way to go! Good luck. I know it isn't easy being in the middle of a pack of rabid wolves. Just keep your focus on Work Work Work. That helps.
