skang Posted December 8, 2012 Posted December 8, 2012 Last night my long distance girlfriend called me after she was supposed to get off from work at 10 PM, saying she was going to work for an additional two hours but would call me after. At 11 PM I got another call from her but she didn't know she was on the other end. As I was about to hang up I hear a male's voice and laughing in the background. Immediately I called and texted but no response. I tried calling again at 12:30 AM but went straight to voicemail. I assumed her phone died and since we often Skype together I logged on waiting for her. 15 minutes later I saw her log into Skype and simultaneously I got a phone call from her. We talked for a minute. She was explaining how her phone died and that her charger has been acting up. I asked her about the phone call she made earlier and she quickly hung up saying how she would call me back because her phone was going to die. I checked to see if she was still on Skype but, she was logged off too. I tried calling multiple times throughout the night but went straight to voicemail. She never logged back onto Skype afterwards as well. She has a new iPhone 5 and never mentioned an issue with her charger before last night. What do you guys make from all this? I would like an outside perspective. Thank you.

Maybe I'm cynical by nature, but a) she goes into way too much detail in her story to you, b) why was she even lending out her laptop to her friend c) who works until 12 am and d) so she just left her door unlocked all night and her friend came in at 3 am to drop off a laptop?? e) what are the odds that her friend would log onto skype at the exact same time that your gf called you on the phone to talk (and then subsequently hung up when you started asking questions). Those are the questions I would have. There are probably some factual bits you can look up for yourself (when does her workplace close, what does she do for a living and what hour shifts do those people usually have to take). She might not have been cheating on you, and I don't know the nature of your relationship, but my gut feeling is there's more going on than she is telling you. Edited December 9, 2012 by Myob12345

She might not have been cheating on you, and I don't know the nature of your relationship, but my gut feeling is there's more going on than she is telling you. a) She is detailed oriented by nature and goes into depth with all stories. b) Not quite sure. c) She works at a retail pharmacy store and they close at 10; she had to do inventory after hours. d) I guess. She lives in a townhouse community tailored for students so it's completely safe and not uncommon to leave doors unlocked and for her colleagues to walk in. e) Skype has been having some issues and it showed her logged in today when she actually wasn't. We were on FaceTime today as this happened. Could've been some server issues the other night. I don't think she's cheating and I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt, but I will be alert and do my best to recognize further red flags. She stayed with me for a week during Thanksgiving and everything was normal. She will be back next Monday for Winter break and we'll see how everything goes then.
